About this deal
This keyboard has terrible chord split performance and is unsuitable for playing games requiring many simultaneous inputs. Whether you're a creative or a coder, Logitech MX has crafted a solution designed to bring your projects and ideas to life and let you take control of your workflow. USB receiver: Plug the receiver to a USB port, open Logitech Options, and select: Add devices > Setup Unifying device, and follow the instructions. However, many users have reported issues with the proximity sensor, including but not limited to the sensor not responding or the sensor shutting off too quickly, which impacts the overall use of the keyboard, especially in dark environments.
Made of stainless steel, and not rubber, this isn’t something you’ll find in other typical light-weight cheap laser mouse. Both use very similar switches, but the MX Keys' keycaps feel a bit better, and the keys are easier to actuate. This keyboard has no dedicated macro keys, and you can't program macros directly on the keyboard, but you can create and use fairly complex macros using this keyboard's configuration software. Other changes include a different set of shortcuts on the function row that now includes an emoji key. But the MX Mechanical is still an excellent keyboard, especially when teamed with an MX Master 3 or 3S mouse. Surprisingly, the Word file itself also moved between the computers when I copied it to the clipboard. The Magic Keyboard and Trackpad have served me well, but adding a Mac Mini to my desk setup has made switching computers and input methods a little trickier.
You can connect wirelessly thanks to its Bluetooth capability, and it has backlighting so that you can see the keys when watching a movie or gaming in the dark. Keeping to the productivity theme, the MX Mechanical features monochromatic backlighting that can be adjusted within seven levels (via function keys or the LogiOptions+ software). It works particularly well for Macs, replicating the placement of the CMD key perfectly and placing the volume controls in the top right. While it lacks incline settings, its low profile design means you likely don't need a wrist rest to type comfortably. You reverse this behavior and set F1 through F12 to act as the primary functions using an option in the software or by toggling the FN lock on the keyboard by pressing FN+Esc. There's a moderate but satisfying tactile bump to overcome that can help reduce accidental keystrokes compared to switches on some keyboards that are much more sensitive. Audible but not obnoxiously loud, they weren't as tiring for long typing sessions as some mechanical keyboards—Logitech's specifications list an actuation force of 55 grams, though other online listings peg the Kailh switches at 43 to 50 grams—and stayed comfortable whether I was just poking around or going as fast as I could. The Logitech is a wireless keyboard, which means it can be used with mobile devices, and you won't have a cable running from the TV to the couch in a home theater PC setup.
