About this deal

This 4 disc set covers so many styles, from a decade that switched between rock and roll revival, reggae, teenybop, 60s nostalgia, disco and new wave, plus plenty more to boot. It was described as acceptable so I was expecting it to be badly damaged , but for 1p I took a risk, It was only dented a bit on the side and it was hardly noticeable i was well happy. As well as various chart shows (with former Radio 1 DJs like Mark Goodier and Bruno Brookes) and artist battles (such as Bowie vs Bolan, or ABBA vs Boney M.

Dan le sac vs Scroobius Pip criticised Channel U in their song "Fixed", as did Lowkey, who cited the absence of any innovation and the channel's lack of desire to take risks. The 30-minute show gave its audience the unique opportunity to see the real lives of footballers off the pitch and featured Premier League football stars including Jermain Defoe and Jermaine Pennant. Channel U commissioned the first ' grime comedy', [5] an animated adult sitcom named The Booo Krooo. John Paul Young's "Love Is In The Air" is a piece of late 70s pop perfection, and along with Carole Bayer Sager's "You're Moving Out Today" and the seaside postcard sauciness of "Telephone Man" by Meri Wilson, songs like this sum up part of the 1976 /1977 musical flavours offered by stations such as Radio 1 and London's Capital Radio. All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.Other artists to comment on Channel U include Kano, Ironik, Lethal Bizzle, Sway, Remi Nicole, Mr Wong, and Dizzee Rascal. Another massive, rarely played today hit is David Soul's "Silver Lady", and any compilation that includes the wonderful "Silly Games" by Janet Kay, the one-hit wonders Marshall Hain with their Rhodes piano driven "Dancing In The City", plus a song that sound-tracked my childhood, Mungo Jerry's "In The Summertime", is doing ok by me. Not all 70's music in fact it is dominated by LATE 70's releases and many that would be 80's classics. The animation series was developed by Matt Mason and Alex Donne Johnson with illustrations by Julian Johnson, aka Art Jaz. Mull Of Kintyre’ from Wings makes the perfect song to conclude our journey through the pop goldmine of the 1970s.

It focuses on music from the 1970s, being the third decade-oriented channel in the Now portfolio, along with Now 80s and Now 90s. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases.were released on various episodes of Grand 12 Inches (which I use as a reference) and confirmed by Ben Liebrand himself to be vinyl transfers -> are better versions found here? Five records later, The Buggles‘ ‘Video Killed The Radio Star’ has a similar role, anticipating the 1980s. Jackson 5, Billy Ocean and The Real Thing bring the first disc to a close – but not before some stomping glam pop from Sweet, Mud, Wizzard and T. Before he joined MTV to host the British version of Pimp My Ride, Tim Westwood had a show on Channel AKA, along with his other media activity. From 20 November 2019 [21] until 27 December 2019, Now 80s used Total Country's slot since the slot that is normally used for Now 80s was used for Now Christmas, efficiently ceasing the channel's broadcast in the process.

As well as picking up litter on Wimbledon Common, The Wombles were the pop sensations of 1974, and ‘The Wombling Song’ kicks the last disc off – Boney M.Disc 1 kicks off with one of the most enduring songs ever from the legendary ABBA with ‘Mamma Mia’ and continues with back-to-back No.

Each record has a sleeve with a front cover featuring different a kitsch design element of the era and has annotated track listings on the rear with bullet-pointed facts/info about each song. The only thing is that they use the good 12" Disco Remix of Relight My Fire (6:46) from 1980 and not the great original mix with the long intro of Loleatta Holloway: Vertigo / Relight My Fire (9:44) from 1979, mixed by John Luongo. If the original is not available, then use another hit, and, there were lots of hits in the 70's so why is it necessary to have one artist repeatedly featured, It would be better to have 100 different artists. Highlights on Disc 3 include pop idols Donny Osmond, Bay City Rollers, Michael Jackson and David Essex, alongside unforgettable pop-reggae from Janet Kay with ‘Silly Games’, and the No.

from Manhattan Transfer with ‘Chanson D’Amour’, Simon Park Orchestra with ‘Eye Level’, ‘I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing (In Perfect Harmony)’ from The New Seekers, and starting off with the sublime ‘Forever And Ever’ from Demis Roussos. based upon the music of the 1970s, the channel also features music from the 1960s in their Now 70s presents Now 60s programming block, in a similar fashion to how Now 80s had a 1970s programme block prior to the launch of Now 70s as a standalone channel.
