About this deal

Have you had numerous tests, lab work, CT scans, MRIs, and doctors have said there is structurally nothing wrong with you? The authors explain the pain-fear cycle and how it’s possible to break that and create new connections in the brain. were things that yes, maybe would help my symptoms go away eventually, but really, were ways that I could be kind to and nurture myself when I was deep in the fear cycle. I am truly indebted to Alan Gordon, and I am sharing the amazing concept of pain reprocessing therapy with everyone I know who is suffering from similar chronic pain issues without a structural cause.

Very, very useful indeed and an absolute lifesaver if you’re willing to accept that your mind and body are connected and that your brain can cause the pain that you are feeling. Apparently the science from fMRI images of the brain (before and after PRT) and studies at the University of Colorado Boulder say yes, in many cases, it *does* work.

How can we send messages of safety to our brains when we may, at any moment, need to find another place to live; when we may not know where we will be working in a month or three months or six months; when we may not know where our next pay check/meal is coming from? The exercises above are part of a series of 6 PRT exercises designed exclusively for the Curable program. Then you get hit with catch-all conditions like "fibromyalgia" or "myofascial pain syndrome" or even, in the case of backs, a slipped disk.

I must say that I did so pretty much out of desperation, with no real optimism that this would be any more successful than anything else I've tried. The authors before closing their engrossing book rightly bemoan the complete disdain given to the concept of understanding pain, in medical curricula across the globe. This book is approachable and delves into how some chronic pain can be attributed to pain centers in your brain misfiring rather than external physical triggers. The author states that chronic pain is real, but "the pain is due to your brain making a mistake and.The University of Colorado at Boulder recently conducted a large randomized controlled study on PRT, and the results are remarkable. I have a feeling this book with help me with other discomforts such as seasickness, so I'm going to work on that next. Gordon a false and fleeting illusion of ‘cure’, he fortuitously was handed a book on the brain-body connection to pain. We're just part of his carelessly planned seesaw ambitions path, which he's apparently embarked upon w/zeal, but no substance whatsoever. Gordon and Ziv argue that it is not a mere pipe dream for billions of sufferers across the globe to rid themselves from the vice like grip of chronic pain.

I truly love that the therapy is easy to follow, I’ve already been picking moments to do the somatic tracking and I hope to come back in Spring 2022 and tell you how I’m doing.

The human brain wants to feel safe, and because uncertainty feels unsafe, we try to introduce certainty, if necessary by too simple explanations (some say long covid symptoms are entirely ‘in the mind’, others insist they are purely physical). What it means is that in being attentive to our symptoms, in a non-judgemental way, we aim to break the fear-pain (or symptom) cycle which feeds the pathways in the brain that can perpetuate chronic pain (or other symptoms). An hour into the book my pain started to drift away as I learned how neuroplastic pain enters the body. So interesting and highly recommend this to anyone who has felt hopelessly at the whim of chronic pain. I used this incredible book about neuroplastic pain and “Pain Reprocessing Therapy” to get me through the detox.
