About this deal

You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. We love that the wonderful Beco Gemini can be used from newborn without the need for a bulky infant insert and offers so many wonderful features.

Those who prefer a more simplistic soft structure carrier may like the Beco Gemini; however, other baby carriers in the lineup offer better performance and for less money. Little Alessandro was as happy as could be in the Beco Gemini, and I was calm, felt secure and even stayed relatively cool while wearing it during a particularly steamy July. You can use it from 7lbs to 35lbs (the weight of an average 3½-year-old), so it’s good value for money.Once she was in it, I could never buckle the chest/back strap on my own (if you’re double jointed, this probably won’t be a problem for you, but I just could never reach it). The front of the Gemini folds down, allowing little ones to see out, and clips easily back into place to support baby’s head when sleeping. You can try either of these on at any of our sessions, or arrange a hire (I post to anywhere in the UK, or if your local you can collect from my home). Because it is so lightweight it doesn't feel bulky to use with a small baby, and so generally even though the 8 works well with a newborn, the Gemini is still often the one the feels more natural with smaller babies. This cool version has 3D breathable mesh panel and lining, much lighter than the standard Gemini – perfect for summer months, holidays, and wearing around centrally heated homes.

when my son became a toddler and I used this while traveling, he complained that the sides of the carrier that went under his thighs would dig into him, making it uncomfortable. Although there are some complaints about material being ‘cheap’ and less reliable than, say, Ergobaby’s, there are not too many reports of Gemini tearing up even when used for couple of children.com (and we agree) recommends to start using the back carry position no earlier than the child’s toddlerhood, as you cannot see the baby. The wider seat does inward positions (front, hip and back) from about 4 months onward (depending on the size of the baby), while the narrow seat accommodates younger babies while parent facing and allows older babies to face outwards comfortably. I never quite feel like I can get the carrier tight enough around my waist to hold up this giant baby.

The Beco Gemini carrier is made from cotton padded fabric (comes in organic as well, just another bonus). When baby wants to face out, the headrest also serves as a padded spot for their head or chin to rest against. This carrier offers four carrying options for baby and has the ability to cross the shoulder straps for mom or dad.For front carry, the front comes up higher than the bjorn does but bub doesn’t seem to mind in the slightest. It supposedly is made so that the hip buckle is on the side not at the back but it does not end up working that way for most moms. Particularly the "cool" version which is made from thinner material and folds up into a very compact bundle.
