When people think of air frying, they often think of perfectly cooked chips, you know the kind: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside… mmm… And while they do indeed cook delicious chips, they do so much more. Our testers loved the handy alert that reminds you to turn your food at crucial cooking points and were pleased with how easy it is to use, programme, and clean (it’s dishwasher-safe).
Our chips were fluffy too, but crisped up best when distributed across two drawers, rather than cramming lots into one. And that’s exactly how our tester used it – grilling burgers, chicken, kebabs, and even slow-cooking beef.

The sustainability of the accessory is reusable, of a quality to be used repeatably, and fit for purpose. However, depending on the food or cleanup required, it’s often best to keep the grates exposed to ensure air is circulating as efficiently as possible and to separate oil from fatty ingredients for maximum crispiness. We also monitor the internal temperature to note how accurately the machine hits temperature settings and how consistently it holds the mark. They aren’t the sleekest appliances, nor the typical chef’s darling like the cast iron skillet or the sous vide cooker, but we’d be lying if we said we didn’t find a great use for this decade’s must-have kitchen tool. We've tested dozens more air fryers, including more Cosori models, the Philips Premium XXL, the tiny Dash Compact, and the Ninja Foodi Dual Zone.Those with two drawers are particularly handy if you want to cook different foods at the same time, but they can take up a lot more room in the kitchen than their more compact counterparts. As well as being deep and large enough to fit half a chicken and plenty of chips, it’s wifi-enabled, and connects to the NutriU app, meaning it can be controlled from your phone and Alexa. It claims to air fry up to 70% quicker than earlier Russell Hobbs models; this wasn’t tested, but it did cook our chicken to succulent, golden perfection in a faster-than-most 30 minutes (simply press the chicken icon on the casing and it presets the optimal temperature and cooking time.
Compared to your regular oven, it’s faster and gives a crispier result, and you can even add different things in at once, so long as they all cook at the same heat. In the classic dual-air-fryer style, this one stands out from the crowd, thanks to its two different-sized compartments – 5. There are two blades for skinny or fat fries and switching blades over is a little clumsy at first but becomes easier. You can rest easy knowing that cleaning the air fryer after a messy batch of homemade chicken tenders is simple for our winning picks.Some models also have a function that allows you to toast and bake food, making them more like conventional ovens. Our chips were evenly cooked and browned in both drawers though, but note that the pre-set function took 30 minutes as opposed to the 15 advertised.
