About this deal

Both kids have spent much of their computer time asking Siri questions about him (with my supervision of course). I'm in Charleston, South Carolina, navigating the wild world of parenting with my energetic 3-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son. I am author of "The Lucet Compendium: a historical exploration and practical guide" with co-author Daniel C. I noticed that my daughter has been definitely speaking a lot more in the past few months (she is about 2 months older than Lexi), but I actually credited it to a new school she had started; plus she has always been a big talker.

Too bad you aren’t in San Diego- in addition to Mandarin and Spanish they also offer Russian and French. A company that makes SOLID WOOD bookshelves and slightly cheaper laminate veneer that are Green Guard Certified ( low or no emission). I installed 2 shelves and found they couldn't hold all of the books we had, but there was enough space for each shelf to have 2 rows of books (taller books at the back, and shorter books at the front). To make the fourth shelf from the bottom (second to last from the top), he aske for a longer board, so the shelf could touch the back of the bookshelf. This type is more used in classrooms than in home environments, because it has the benefit of offering different sides to different children all at once.Non toxic water lacquer finish (low VOCs ) My background as a violin maker means I am passionate about how products are made. It’s a good rule of thumb to allow extra breathing room on either side of your shelves, rather than maxing out the space). We have a full sized bookshelf upstairs, two full sized bookshelves downstairs, a half sized bookshelf in the front room, and stacks and piles and bins full of books scattered around the house. She learns that you need time to make something out of raw materials and she learns that things can be repared or repurposed to be used again. I used an 'off the shelf' wood filler which I mixed as per the manufacturers instructions into a paste, filled in the holes, waited for it to dry, then sanded back with a fine grit sandpaper.

my first classroom was a special ed pre-k room and forward facing was something i really wanted to try. Our daughter became able to spot a feature in a book and tell it appeared somewhere in another book, even pinpoint in which one! Our then 2-year-old settling in with excitement minutes after I finished assembling the display case!

We chose to make three shelves, so this material list is based on materials needed to make three 4-ft long shelves. We chose to make the highest shelf 65cm high (about 25 in): at the beginning we could use the lower ones and fill the others as our daughter grew.

It is slightly smaller and fits fewer books in the front facing position, however it has deep top pockets for book storage and a whole back that doubles as storage as well.I am always worried about the “torrents” due to copyright and viruses, but since I have a MAC now, viruses may be less of a concern. I love that these have a ledge in the front that keeps books from falling foward when kids are looking at them, but that the clear acrylic allows children to see the whole cover!
