About this deal
Polly Crosby tells ReadingZone about her novel, This Tale is Forbidden (Scholastic), a fractured fairy tale set in a dystopian world.
Religion, like sexuality, is a complex subject and can be cast in an unfavourable light, but not here.I never felt completely invested into the main characters and that’s a tough thing for me as a reader. While this wasn't my absolute favorite of Casey's books, I am eternally grateful to it for pulling me out of a months long reading slump and I am so!
Born and raised in southern Louisiana, Casey now lives in New York City with Pepper, a poodle mix and semipro personal assistant. Armed with Shara's boyfriend, Smith and the local bad boy who crushes on Shara, Rory, they solve the clues to find her.The setting was a very key factor in the book, yet it did not feel like it was given enough attention. Thank you so much to the publisher, Wednesday Books and Macmillan Audio, for providing me copies to read and review. I loved seeing where everyone ended up by graduation, with happy endings, bittersweet ones, and everything in between.
