Live and Dangerous
About this deal
Newly mixed by Ben Findlay from the original multi-tracks and mastered by Andy Pearce, overseen by legendary Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham. It was also the last Thin Lizzy album to feature guitarist Brian Robertson, [a] who left the band shortly after its release. The more serene material -- "Southbound" and "Dancing in the Moonlight" -- is just as gripping, while the slow blues of "Still in Love with You" contains two of the most heartfelt and lyrical guitar solos ever (a trade-off between both Robertson and Gorham). WATCH Thin Lizzy's Scott Gorham accept The MOJO Icon Award on behalf of his former bandmate, Phil Lynott.
Visconti later revealed that shows at the Tower Theater, Philadelphia on 20 and 21 October 1977, a week earlier than the Toronto gig, had also been recorded. Aos próximos compradores, retirem com muito cuidados os cds pares, pois os de cima (1,3,5,7) são mais fáceis de retirar.
Super-sub Gary Moore stepped in admirably while the Scotsman’s hand healed, but the moment had passed. The large format (12″ x 12″) package includes sleeve notes with new interviews by Mark Blake and a booklet packed with rare photos and memorabilia. For this specific sale the CDs sleeve condition refers only to the inner paper insert sleeve, and does not refer to the outer digipak, jewel case or cardboard outer casing. Live and Dangerous is being released as a definitive 8-CD super deluxe version featuring a newly remastered version of the original album alongside all of the gigs recorded for Live And Dangerous.
NME reviewer Tim Chester declared Live and Dangerous "the best live album we ever heard" despite the alleged overdubs, which he dismissed as irrelevant. Now wrapping a sold-out UK Tour in support of Jailbreak’s rapid fire follow-up Johnny The Fox, they were hyped; a cocked pistol waiting to fire.It was recorded in London in 1976, and Philadelphia and Toronto in 1977, with further production in Paris. Therefore proving that the need to overdub performances was merely a vanity project on the part of the musicians! Rejoice too in the spontaneous variations between performances while noting (despite what the original gatefold might have implied) that most come from the second night in Philadelphia (where Southbound was recorded at sound-check). There is some overlap of tracks between the two albums, though Still Dangerous is completely live with no overdubs.
