Logitech has opted for minimal controls on the rear of the left ear cup, where you’ll only find the power button and volume wheel. It's limited to PC and PlayStation, and the microphone is not detachable, but it certainly lives up to its namesake. But in close-up conversations in the same game the surround-sound effect was somewhat lacking in precision.

I am somewhat disappointed with the lack of punchy bass on these headphones, as I enjoy bass impact when playing certain RPG and survival-style games. Equipped with Logitech's Lightspeed wireless technology, the G535 gaming headset delivers up to 12 meters of range and 33 hours of battery life.Replaying Final Fantasy VII Remake on the PlayStation 4, for example, it could still take advantage of the surround-sound hard-wired into the game design – in that game, you’re constantly walking past non-player characters having conversations, and with the G535 Lightspeed we could clearly hear the general direction from which their comments were coming. If it were a person, it would be your most self-effacing and dependable friend, with a tendency to shun the limelight but to be there when you need them most.

One thing I find pretty cool is that the suspension straps are reversible, with a second style option available simply by flipping the strap around and reattaching it. When you factor in the 236-gram weight, the result is comfort for hours, which is great to see for a wireless headset. The Logitech G535 are listed as having 33 hours of battery on the brand’s site but personally I got about 30 hours of playtime out of these cans before they needed a charge. I wouldn’t say that the Logitech G535’s plastic body feels particularly premium, but it’s clearly well built, and if it allows for such a lightweight end product, I’m on board.Instead, Logitech has gone for a good old-fashioned plug-and-play philosophy, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you prefer simplicity.
