About this deal

This one is nice enough but the dry down isn't as nice and the stronger vanilla and the oud don't really work with it in my opinion. But somehow one day i went out and this was in my bag and I’ve mistaken it with another decant that I should have brought along. Plus, with complains that the newer batches of the original not performing so well, I think this would do the job!

Eventually dries down to a leather with some lemon and vanilla with the woodiness still there if you put nose to skin. This flanker is still very reminiscent of the original Cedrat Boise DNA, but they've added things that I feel were a bit unnecessary and changed a working formulation, it seems just for the sake of having an intense flanker more than anything.

This is the main reason why people think most of the Mancera fragrances got reformulated into weaker versions, in reality, they just switched sprayers. I get the fruits and woods at the beginning, but the fruits don't seem to last very long on my skin. I like both and recommend both and if you only could choose one I would go with the original as it is more versatile and more mainstream in a way. I'd describe this as a smokers car with a bunch of fruity air freshner trying to cover up the smoke.

My batch is from April 2022, can apply in the morning, it will last all day long, and when I wake up the next day I will still perceive small whiffs of the fragrance. I get the hype: this is gorgeous, smoky-sweet lemon and fruit over subtly spicy woods and musk, not quite gourmand, not quite aromatic, not quite fruity-floral--different and yet somehow familiar, or genuinely appealing. Even though Cedrat Boise always was aside from all Aventus-like fragrances for me as having more identity of it's own, this one strongly resembles Supremacy Silver by Afnan to me. Leather and oakmoss are also prominent players during the drydown, although I detect little to no oud throughout the wearing. It also lasts very long, which i also didnt think because i just went nose blind in the first 10 minutes of wearing it (thats the reason im rewriting my review). I have over a 100 now not to brag but just to tell you I've had some little experience but I blind bought most and for a lot of them i took my time before i ended up absolutely loving them. You can definitely smell the lemon and bergamot; it's a fresh, clean, and sharp scent that I think a lot of people like. Really expected this to be a blast of citrus notes, akin to Dior Homme Cologne, but it’s thankfully more understated than that. Projection is very average, projecting slightly more than an arm’s length for the first 2 hours and forming a small scent bubble around you afterwards.

I love love love the OG and yes, this is fantastic too, but to my nose I can hardly tell them apart. For example, some top note citrus scents smell stronger immediately upon application, while a lavender middle note may be sensed after some time from application as the top note evaporates.

All I can say is if you think your bottle is not performing, let is sit for a while and I think you will be surprised.
