The light is poor, a couple of tapers only burning at each end of the table, and a small smoky fire hissing in the great hearth. The word had spread even outside members of our church, for there were several unfamiliar faces present. I found parts of the book quite difficult to access and understand due to the unconventional way the chapters had been arranged.I would have liked to read about more details concerning his faith and proclamations since he was highly acclaimed for a time after his "visions".

I am told she has sustained the most terrible injuries, and lies close to death at her father's house. It makes the characters come to life, and I will never forget the first time I read the chapter from ‘Martha’.
