I had never read a book that dealt with this topic, and it was heartbreaking since it is something that a lot of women struggle with. Inside the box are love letters they wrote each other early in their marriage—they’d agreed to open these letters either on their 25th wedding anniversary or in case of a marital emergency. That’s nice of him—finding it in himself to feel compassion for me when he’s obviously experiencing the same thing. Readers say this novel in the Hopeless series gave them “emotional whiplash” and reminded them why they read romance in the first place. But the mysterious Holder has been keeping secrets of his own, and once they are revealed, Sky is changed forever and her ability to trust may be a casualty of the truth.

Merit is complex and charming as she struggles with depression, and Hoover shines here as she reveals hope glowing within a house of dysfunction. At this point, the only thing that can save them could very well be the one thing that pushes their marriage on the edge—to the point of having irreconcilable differences.

It was very different, because it got to a point where Quinn didn’t even want to be near Graham because she longed to be with him because she loved him, but didn’t want to go through with it.I was listening to ABBA’s “Chiquitita” and “I’ve Been Waiting For You” to calm down, but it didn’t help at all. He is completely honest and even confesses to Quinn that he only kissed the woman and that the only reason it happened was because he missed the old Quinn and that new woman reminded him of her and he was attracted to her due to that.
