About this deal

I believe I will have to scrap that portion of my setup and purchase a new burner that takes a more readily available canister. There are many commercial adapters that will enable some backpacking stoves to be connected to gas canisters that do not have screw on type Lindal valve connectors.

I’ve not used that stove or those canisters, but when I look up the Campingaz 400, it says it’s compatiable with the Campingaz R907 canister. Remember, if you empty a gas canister in a bothy, pack it out please, ideally accompanied by some previously abandoned rubbish too. There may be something available on AliExpress or similar but I have no experience of an adapter if there is. As there really doesn't seem to be an adapter which converts Campingaz lanterns to run on screw thread canisters (presumably Campingaz want you to use only their gas with their lanterns! Most of these gas canisters have screw on EN 417 Lindal connectors, however three on the right do not. New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging .

These taller butane canisters are narrow and unstable if they are used with a canister top stove rather than a remote stove. Just a handful of manufacturers have produced lightweight stoves that will attach to a small variety of canisters. In truth, I think you’d pretty much reached the conclusion already: I don’t believe there are any adaptors or alternative fuel sources for Campingaz Bleuet style stoves. The CV470 clamping channel is much deeper than the Lindal channel, so first job is to cut off the blue tabs from the end of the blue plastic CV470 connector and then file the cut surfaces smooth. I’m better with the smaller, lighter camping stoves/canisters rather than the bigger ones, so I’m afraid I’ve not tried what you’re suggesting.Otherwise, consider this a “thank you” note, and I hope you and your readers continue to have safe travels. I didn’t realize there would be an issue until after I received the setup, so I’ve spent an ungodly amount of time figuring out how to get around this situation. Is there a adaptor which allows me to make the the party grill connect with a larger Canister as the campingaz R907?

Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). Most camping stoves are just compatible with screw-on canisters and some are just compatible with Easy-Clic canisters. None of these are of much use to any backpacker passing through as most stoves will not connect to them and they gather cobwebs for months. That bundle includes an adapter that I haven’t got or covered here, one to be used with earlier pierceable type Campingaz canisters.

As 2023 comes to an end, Three Points of the Compass takes a glance at a handful of items of gear that accompanied me on trail. I have spent days trying to sort out an issue, and your site finally gave me the complete answer I needed to hear (I believe). I’m afraid I’m not aware of any adapters that allow you to use other canisters on a pierceable stove. However, there are a couple of special stoves that will allow you to use either type of canister: screw-on and Easy-Clic.

If, by any chance, I’ve somehow misunderstood the information above and you know of a solution, please do let me know. Some will have packed in a Campingaz stove or, less often, something to hook up to a large and heavy dark green propane bottle weighing a kilogram or so. Propane performs really well at extreme low temperatures, which is why you will find ‘winter-mix’ canisters that hold up to 20% propane. Why has no-one done a female screw in to easy clic…or has Camingaz got some patent strangle hold on this way round? Alternative adapters for these bottles are quite easily located as they are sold for those brazing and soldering with propane.Hi Giaovanni, we cycled across Cambodia a couple of years ago but I think we mostly just bought food, because it was so cheap, rather than using our camping stove. The fuel lead to the Spider is quite long so will reach the extended height of a propane canister with adapter attached.
