This is actually a pretty typical layout for mechanical boards – so it's not an issue unique to Corsair's product – but it would have been great to have an extra function key for my left hand to use. Corsair makes so many products, and the company's mechanical keyboards are among the best keyboards out there.

But these Cherry Viola switches aren’t the MX-style ones you’re used to and have a distracting look that’ll constantly remind you of their budget nature. It’s also a requirement if you want to make any custom profiles, remap keys or do macro recording or customized RGB effects.You get the full per-key RGB experience, as well as a nice brushed aluminum and even Cherry-branded mechanical switches. Although there are no dedicated media keys, you do get media control via the FN row and can also control RGB brightness and toggle through 11 premade RGB lighting effects. There's onboard memory to save profiles so that you can access them on another computer that doesn't have the software installed.

You'll need to spend some time getting used to the low-profile nature of this keyboard, but once you're grown accustomed to the layout and how everything works, you'll become top of the leaderboard in no time.I had difficulty even pressing enough keys at the same time to test this feature, but using an online tool, I easily registered over 50 simultaneous keypresses. The keyboard does sport an aluminum backplate located just below the keys, but the underbelly of the Corsair K60 RGB Pro Low Profile is plastic. Corsair does have a version of its more premium K70 available with Cherry MX Low Profile Red switches, so if you'd prefer a more expensive keyboard, that would be a better choice. That might make you think this keyboard is hot swappable and lets you easily change the mechanical keyboard switches, but, sadly, that’s not the case with this implementation of Violas.
