About this deal

m. feed which gave me the opportunity to finish the book as unable to get back to sleep I completed it in the early morning hours.

The twists and turns the author lead us through made for a fascinating story which kept me hooked until the last page was turned. All in all, “ The Death on Cromer Beach” was a very enjoyable police procedural and I look forward to further books in this series with enthusiasm. It was on one of these occasions that I met my partner about 100 metres from my back door whilst walking a dog.It soon becomes clear that the murders were carefully planned and the finger of suspicion points to an organised crime gang, but as the evidence mounts, a far more sinister theory emerges. Another key character in the book is Cromer itself – the author has gained permission from a number of local businesses to feature them and this gives the book a strong authenticity. The setting itself becomes a character, casting its eerie and mesmerizing shadow over the narrative, that’s again perfectly and expertly paced, before building to a satisfyingly realistic ending. Plot development is also key to a great thriller, particularly in a debut when casting the net to capture the reader’s attention is key.

This has a slew of crimes and a slew of suspects and complex back stories to be sorted out by the detectives. This is the first in the new DS Knight series by Ross Greenwood and was published by Bookouture on April 26th, 2023. The plot is based on a series of murders that are apparently related to a party on the beach some thirty years ago. She also talked to a next door neighbour about the case, revealing details about the case which should have been kept hidden from the public. It centres around a group of friends in their youth and a tragic event which follows them all and deeply effects their later lives to the point where it can no longer be contained, The cracks start to show as the original group all start being killed with the fear that nobody knows who the perpetrator is and where they will strike next.

This deliberate pacing allows for a thorough exploration of motives and clues, keeping the reader in suspense until the final revelations. It soon becomes clear that the murders were carefully planned and the finger of suspicion points to an organised crime gang, but as the evidence mounts, a far more sinister theory emerges. As the case gains momentum, DS Knight is given a new partner in Detective Constable Hector Fade, whose crime scene capabilities are matched only by his attractiveness.
