I recommend this book for 8-12 because it was a very interesting book that I think almost everyone would like. The oldest son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a founding member of Hamas and its most popular leader, young Mosab assisted his father for years in his political activities while being groomed to assume his legacy, politics, status.It stays high level, but covers the background on the prisoners, the planning for the escape, the escape itself, and the aftermath including the theories on what happened to the men. When a terrible drought struck William Kamkwamba's tiny village in Malawi, his family lost all of the season's crops, leaving them with nothing to eat and nothing to sell. The tale begins with the corrections academy and ends with the flames and smoke of New Year's Eve on Conover's floor of the notorious B-Block. This is a moving and funny debut novel set in a quirky coastal community you will be desperate to visit after reading. The world was a dangerous place, but in comic books, lawmen and superhero crime-fighters gave people hope for a future in which justice prevailed and the good guys always won.

The Great Depression showed few signs of letting up, jobs were scarce, and criminals made headlines across the nation. A true crime classic, Escape from Alcatraz recounts the history of the infamous prison on Alcatraz Island and the many men who risked their lives trying to escape it. But anyways I definitely liked this book, and it was super short, quick, and easy to read and follow.Patrick Cullen took a factual book and made it very interesting - I never felt bored and certainly wanted to keep listening. If like me you've always wanted to learn more about Alcatraz and what went on over there then this is definitely the book for you. The book was published only ten months after Frank Morris and the Anglin brothers successfully escaped from the prison in December 1962, and it was really neat to read such a detailed account of the plotting and execution of this attempt (gleaned from the fourth co-conspirator, Allen West, who was left behind by the other men and who received a plea deal for his cooperation). In an era of larger-than-life gangsters, it’s not surprising that some of the earliest comic-book villains were modeled on hijackers, embezzlers, kidnappers, and bank robbers whose real-life counterparts were locked up on Alcatraz.

Campbell Bruce wrote Escape from Alcatraz, a chronicle of escape attempts over the lifetime of the prison that focuses especially on one notorious episode in June of 1962. The chapter on frank morris was most enjoyable to listen to,not much on capone and hardly anything on tye Birdman unless I fell asleep and missed it.
