About this deal

It was the time when characters still used thought balloons and used to narrate the obvious for reader's convenience. The Doctor Strange and Hulk issues lie somewhere in between but have their high points, such as the final Doctor Strange issue, which is the perfect conclusion for the volume.

Because this is an omnibus it comes with plenty of crossover extras, such as Doctor Strange and the incredible Hulk.I finally got a copy of the infinity Gauntlet omnibus and was wondering of its worth investing in the trilogy (Infinity War/Crusade). About the first 850ish pages followed the main story straight thru starting with the Silver Surfer prologue issues, Thanos rising mini-series, and then the Infinity Gauntlet issues. In the mid-1970s, Starlin contributed a cache of stories to the independently published science-fiction anthology Star Reach. But even as the Mad Titan gathers the six Infinity Gems from across the galaxy, assembling them into the Infinity Gauntlet and gaining truly godlike powers, a host of heroes gather to oppose him — including the Silver Surfer, Adam Warlock, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Doctor Strange and the Hulk! Death has released Thanos from her cold embrace, and he plans to repay her by murdering half the universe!

This has the main story, the Thanos Quest (which is very good and imperative to how Thanos gets the gauntlet) and a ton of Silver Surfer to start. The last two are another big let down as the ending is wholly underwhelming and just the shittiest was they could have gone about it.

When he realizes that nothing he can do will gain her love, he set out to become her equal by collecting the 6 Infinity gems and gaining control over reality. The death was decided by fans, as DC Comics set up a hotline for readers to vote on as to whether or not Jason Todd should survive a potentially fatal situation. The team of Silver surfer and Drax were able to find Adam warlock, who was dead as a doornail and is resurrected to stop Thanos. But even as the Mad Titan gathers the six Infinity Gems from across the galaxy, assembling them into the Infinity Gauntlet and gaining truly godlike powers, a host of heroes gather to oppose him – including the Silver Surfer, Adam Warlock, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Doctor Strange and the Hulk!

Marvel, it seems to me, takes the whole "modern mythology" thing very literally--or, at least, more so than I've seen DC take it. They are (usually) very good and really help flesh out the situation and just how far its effects are felt. The Infinity Gauntlet was interesting and was a page turner until I finished the Infinity Gauntlet subsection. The reset button at the end is the main problem with the series, but pretty expected given what occurs. It seems like a minor thing, but it's frustrating to have to go back and see how much the characters know and what events have and have not happened for each issue. But even as the Mad Titan gathers the six Infinity Gems from across the galaxy, assembling them into the Infinity Gauntlet and gaining truly godlike powers, a host of heroes gather to oppose him - including the Silver Surfer, Adam Warlock, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Doctor Strange and the Hulk! Then, when the Marvel Universe teams up to take on Thanos, we get a lot of waiting, while Adam Warlock plans and waits until just the right minute to set things into motion. With a career dating back to the early 1970s, he is best known for "cosmic" tales and space opera; for revamping the Marvel Comics characters Captain Marvel and Adam Warlock; and for creating or co-creating the Marvel characters Thanos and Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu.

While I feel like the main series works if you read it alone, I recommend reading all of SS and the Warlock issues leading up to it. Even with Doctor Doom, Galactus and the universe's cosmic powers aiding them, can Marvel's mightiest possibly prevail against Thanos the all-powerful? By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. But on the other hand, it also means that the suspension of disbelief can be stretched to nearly a breaking point--and also that the villain can be made so powerful that defeating him becomes unrealistic.Jim Starlin, George Perez, Ron Lim and many more made a book for the ages with this one, and this is ofcourse the inspiration for a big chunk of the MCU that rocked our socks of with Infinity War and Endgame. Once you read the silver surfer issues, thanos quest and then the actual infinity gauntlet series, the other half of this book is filler stories where thanos appeared to the characters whether briefly or for a whole issue. The Infinity Gauntlet Omnibus starts out reprinting the events previously assembled in Silver Surfer: Rebirth of Thanos, the limited Thanos Quest, and a few more Silver Surfer episodes to appropriately set the stage for the actual Infinity Gauntlet mini-series.
