About this deal

The first album in 7 years from seminal electronic music pioneers and twice Mercury Prize Nominated, Leftfield. This Is What We Do, is an eclectic long-player that embodies the core optimistic ethos of the iconic dance music act. Two years later we made the move to our present address, 35 The Headrow, where we have remained ever since. The album contains guest spots from musicians not associated with dance music at the time such as John Lydon from Public Image Ltd.

Honest, forthright, unapologetic and unique in its aesthetic, the new album marks another milestone in Leftfield’s timeline. Their last tour (in 2017) featured 7 sold out UK shows (including 2 X Brixton Academies), a sold out world tour and various festival headlines. Now consisting solely of Neil Barnes since the project’s reactivation in 2010, it’s a satisfying slate of reliably bass-heavy progressive house, featuring the ace single ‘Pulse’. Leftism is the debut studio album by English electronic music duo Leftfield (Neil Barnes and Paul Daley), originally released in 1995 on Columbia Records. For items that are dispatched using our standard service, we ask that you wait 14 days from the date of dispatch before reporting any items as undelivered. We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. In 2010, Neil Barnes reignited the Leftfield name, and went on to release an acclaimed new album (Alternative Light Source) touring the world with the full live band.

Exploring themes around love, acceptance, diversity and healing, the album was written before and after two extremely challenging and transformative periods in the life of Leftfield’s Neil Barnes. All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. Their last tour (in 2017) featured 7 sold out UK shows (including 2 X Brixton Academies), a sold out world tour and various festival headlines.Neil Barnes brought the group back in 2010 and went on tour, recorded a new album and generally pushed Leftfield back into the limelight. Currently reaching a new audience through Idris Elba’s Gucci ad, this will be their 4th album in their 28 year history. The album cover is a shot taken by lauded photographer Steve McCurry, whose work includes the celebrated photograph Afghan Girl. This Is What We Do is full of the stature you expect, with lead-heavy beats and snarling bass underpinning a treasure trove of hooks.
