About this deal

Each individual episode has, at its core, a police case that needs to be solved, and the path to doing so has Hunt on one side and Sam on the other, arguing over how things should be handled, eventually meeting somewhere in the middle. While its creators are quick to brush off comparisons to fellow time-travelling TV series QUANTUM LEAP, there are obvious thematic similarities, however unconscious. It’s one of those inspired moments in television, a collision of two genres, a police procedural and a supernatural/sci-fi mystery. He eventually comes to realise that he has become used to, and enjoys, the 1970s, seeing it as his "real world". The only way they could be the same is if the Frank Morgan in 1973 is the real one, and Sam is hallucinating the future doctor.

More seriously, Tyler can't help but insist on some principles of modern policing and suspects' rights—niceties that don't interest the punch-first-ask-questions-later DCI Hunt. The plot is based on the ambiguity of Sam's predicament as neither the audience nor the character can be sure whether he has died, fallen into a coma, or legitimately travelled in time. If all you’ve heard about Life on Mars is that it was a short-lived show on ABC, you’re sadly underinformed. An affordable, self-contained set with a satisfying selection of extras, it's a lot easier to get into than most TV drama DVDs.Essentially, this is a cop show with a twist--a police detective in 2006 is knocked backward in time to 1973, where he is a member of a police force whose hard ways are far different than what he knows.

I had the opportunity to see him on London’s West End in Andrew Bovell’s Speaking In Tongues last year, and he was amazing. There is more than enough new and unused material for my books without me going back and plundering previous episodes. The titles are unique – a sort of tour of the police bullpen – if a bit annoying as you have to wait for the DVD to zoom down hallways to get to the next menu. Schwahn), Eric Balfour (Eddie Carling), Kevin Conway (Donovan "The Werewolf of Wall Street" Stamp), Vincent Curatola (Anthony Nunzio), Cheyenne Jackson (Sebastian Grace), Wallace Shawn (Stephen "The Sorcerer" Morrell), Laura Benanti (Denise Carling), Chris Bowers (Tony Crane), Fred Dalton Thompson (Chief Harry Woolf), Kevin Kilner (Dr. Rather than being accessible from the episodes screen, you have to go to Audio Setup to activate them.Behind the Scenes of Episode 7 lasts 3½ minutes and offers a director (SJ Jackson) voiceover for the behind the scenes look at the courtroom scene.

His background leads Sam into conflict, as other characters exhibit openly sexist, homophobic, and racist behaviour, and often indulge all these prejudices while carrying out their police duties. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.

Upon Sam Tyler awaking in 1973, he finds himself on a building site, beneath a large advertising board, proclaiming the construction of a new motorway, the Mancunian Way.In other words, while surgeons work at healing him, he must heal the world in which he has exiled himself. At the same time, he pokes around his old neighborhood, finding younger versions of his troubled parents and almost coming in contact with himself at age 4.
