As for friends here, they are not considered as much as they should be imo, probably due to the `techy' looks. One member considers them too bright, which I have never experienced tbh. I am very susceptible to boxy colourations present with budget wooden constructed models, particularly so with female vocals. Which is inevitable given the prices paid. The hdp material used with the jbl's seems to do a good job in helping to prevent this.I'm not sure why these speakers are not given more column inches, but really they are brilliant. Highly recommend. Dosnt really matter if you do confuse them with the 135mm studio version, the smaller Control 1's are excellent in their own right.
