Griping About Gremlins: Understandably for a novel that happens to talk about airplanes at the wake of World War One. The plot lingers on the legend of the gremlins, little creatures that sabotage airplanes and which frighten most pilots. It is revealed that the gremlins are in fact zombified skins of Antonio Torres. In 1986, when Diavolo was 19, the priest (who by then had completely adopted Diavolo as his son) spotted Diavolo walking on the beach with Donatella. Believing it was time to get Diavolo a car, the priest began to construct a garage, only to find a young woman, Diavolo's mother, buried alive in the dirt with her mouth sewn shut. That night, a fire broke out and razed the village, killing the priest and five other people. Diavolo was listed as a casualty as well. Psychic Powers: On top of the Stands from the manga, Maijo introduces three new Stand-like psychic powers:

Frankly, this novel is extremely underrated in the JoJo community, I suspect this is because most of the people who talk about it seem to have never read it and just use it as a source of unfunny memes whilst spreading mistruths about it because they've been told that it is not a legitimate piece of literature, which couldn't be further from the truth. Lost in Translation: The original novel is full of kanji puns, which weren't carried through the fan translation. Also, the part of Jorge Joestar being "Great Detective" was also lost, even though it's an important details in the books of Maijo Otaro. Body Horror: Lots. First chapter alone gives us Antonio Torres' skin and the death of Mr. Hernandez. There is also the death of Jim Graham, who is forced by Torres to puke his internal organs. The attempt to make a JoJo story into a detective novel is interesting, but it doesn't really work since most of the conclusions to the problems faced are often logical leaps that make no sense, or are reliant on information the reader never had to begin with. There are also plenty of elements that get introduced to add complexity to the scenarios which end up being nothing but misdirection, and that have no real reason for being there.Ascended Meme: It is very popular among the fandom to refer to Bruno Bucciarati as a Team Mom. The 37th universe version of him has a Stand called Stepmom. Late-Arrival Spoiler: What about being impossible to talk about the book without spoiling AT LEAST the ending of Part 6? It only gets worse when the Valentine(s) appear. Kars prepares to return to Earth after being thrown out of orbit by ejecting the built-up air within his body, but the air freezes on its way out. His vital body begins to freeze from the near-absolute zero temperature and he becomes trapped in the void of space for eternity as half-mineral, half-animal. Unable to die even though he wishes for it, Kars eventually stops thinking. Originally a man of low birth but peerless ambition, Dio is a cunning villain of little conscience and has an insatiable hunger for power. After becoming a vampire and later a Stand user, wielding the all-powerful The World, Dio has gathered many minions around him and is responsible for many major events of the series. His legacy and influence persists throughout the first six parts of JoJo, with characters either being related to him or heavily inspired by him. However, if he places discs containing copies of his ultimate Stands into an ordinary human, they will immediately explode as their bodies are not capable of withstanding Kars's ultimate power. Kars can create degraded versions of his Stands instead to give to others. There is a limit of one Stand per person unless they are an Ultimate Thing like Kars.

The next morning, Rohan finds Tsukumojuku's corpse in his study. His naked body, wrapped only in a diamond-shaped red cloth, is discovered mounted on a stuffed polar bear with a slit in his throat and a broad axe slung over his shoulder, resembling the folk tale character Kintarō. As it turns out, Tsukumojuku had been the victim of a series of murders involving two other detectives, whose bodies were made to resemble Japanese folk tales after their deaths. Jorge and Rohan attempt to investigate his murder. [5] A Brief Reunion Bruno Bucciarati reveals that they found the dead bodies of Diavolo and Yoshikage Kira in the study of the Arrow Cross House, where they had somehow been lying for at least twelve hours, despite Jorge Joestar and Rohan Kishibe having been in and out of that room all day. He shares footage from Leone Abbacchio's Stand Videodrome, depicting a holographic display of Diavolo and Kira's sudden deaths with their throats being slit. Videodrome records everything that happens to someone for 24 hours after midnight and cuts off at the moment of their death, meaning that there are no records of Diavolo and Kira from midnight until 8 am. They just suddenly appeared in Arrow Cross House at 8 am, where they were killed in approximately one second, and nobody noticed their bodies. [3]

Dio Brando ( ディオ・ブランドー, Dio Burandō), later known simply as DIO ( DIO ( ディオ )), is the main antagonist of the first and third parts of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Phantom Blood and Stardust Crusaders, as well as the first main antagonist of the series overall. He is also a primary antagonist in the sixth part of the series, Stone Ocean.

Despite his knowledge that Joseph Joestar and allies are looking for him, he does not make any effort to go confront them himself and instead chooses to remain in his mansion reading or feeding on the blood of women. Yeah I really liked this book. Is it perfect? God no. But there really is nothing else like it, and I feel it’s something every Jojo fan should at least try. And for everyone into bizarre modern detective fiction AND Jojo, it’s a must read. Just be prepared for a deep and rather explicit rabbit hole if you wanna go further into Maijo’s works. I loved the stands and how crazy and over the top they were. Imagine a stand whose only ability is to summon flying dolphins or another that just summons an NYPD policeman. Or the craziest of them all Made In Heaven Ultimate Requiem. In January 2001, Donatella died due to an illness and Trish begun a quest to find her father. Due to his ties through Italy, Diavolo learned of this and sent Pericolo off to find her before La Squadra could. Additionally, the cover of Volume 57 depicts her wearing a one-piece white blouse with Spice Girl as a motif on the front side while only exposing her bare legs. The outfit is supposedly inspired by an outfit American model Trish Goff wore for a fashion show. Besides, Trish's hair was again depicted differently and she wore a pair of wedge sandals with ankle bracelets.

Kira's Stand, Killer Queen, came as a result of his father, Yoshihiro Kira, giving him a Stand arrow that he himself received from Enyaand DIO. [2]His parents were already old when he was born, and his father died of cancer when he was 21. His mother passed away some time later peacefully. Straizo is a skilled human trained in the art of the Ripple by Tonpetty. He is capable of channeling the Ripple through solid objects to destroy multiple zombies. Bounds are similar to Stands but are their own unique type of ability that can rarely develop in people who fully accept the land they live in, allowing them to become one with that land. The only known Bound users are Goyathlay Soundman and later Kars who evolves to learn Soundman's ability, Dune, and makes it his own. Soundman and Enrico Pucci decide to call the power Bound as there are not enough examples for it to have an official name. The explanation for Ultimate Kars's ability to transform into animals in Chapter 110 is a reference to recapitulation theory. Slept Through the Apocalypse: Rohan was so utterly absorbed in his work that Made In Heaven simply didn't affect him and he carried over into the next universe unchanged. TL;DR, if you are into modern and bizarre (no pun intended) Japanese detective fiction, READ THIS BOOK. Well, that and if you’ve read parts 1-7 of Jojo. Not everything will make sense because this book isn’t exactly solely a Jojo spinoff, but it’s still a great time. If you are not into weird detective fiction and just into Jojo, read chapter 5 of this book. It’s a really good read that can mostly stand alone, and is sorta like PHF in that accepting it into your personal canon makes the main series better.
