About this deal

If you don't take the admissions test(s) required for your course, either because you didn't register or didn't attend on the test day, then your application will be significantly affected. Your UCAS form will still be viewed by our admissions tutors. While it is true that the LNAT focuses on logic rather than memorising content in advance, this does not mean that you can’t prepare – it’s just about preparing in a different way. Practice tests (or individual practice questions) are a great place to start. We offer a free practice test on The Lawyer Portal. Your LNAT test must be paid for in advance. You can pay using a major credit card, debit card where no pin number is needed or by LNAT e-voucher or bursary. In the second section of the LNAT you will be given 40 minutes to write an essay from a list of three proposed subjects. Here are a few sample essay questions for you to think about. Remember that you get 40 minutes to write a maximum of 750 words – ideally about 500-600 words . You must take note of any testing deadlines imposed by particular LNAT-participating universities. It is your responsibility to do this. Neither the LNAT Consortium nor Pearson VUE takes responsibility for the consequences of not registering on time. Bookings by schools and colleges

The Financial Times: This newspaper is a good source of news and analysis on business, economics, and finance. It can be helpful to read it to improve your critical reading and analytical skills. The LNAT book was written in the format and level of the actual exam, with 9 sections covering Section B topics with examples and key takeaways. Essay examples are provided for each question type, guiding you through the simplest, most effective way to find the correct answer in the shortest amount of time.If you do read the online versions, remember to read the comment pieces as well as the news. (One question you might ask yourself: What exactly is the difference between news and comment? Is the contrast really apparent in practice?) The LNAT is a 2 hour 15 minute exam split into two sections. LNAT Section A features 42 multiple choice questions (95 minutes) and LNAT Section B features an essay chosen from a choice of three (40 minutes). The test is essentially a critical thinking test. It is similar to the tests you’ll encounter later on in your legal career in the form of a Watson Glaser if applying to law firm training contracts , for example. As a result, it’s not a matter of memorising content – rather, you’re being tested on your ability to logically dissect and answer a problem. For our top tips on how to specifically approach each individual section in your exam, see our LNAT exam preparation tips. Which universities require the LNAT? Unlike our other admissions tests, candidates sitting the LNAT normally do so in a registered test centre, rather than in their school or college. There are over 500 LNAT test centres around the world with 150 in the UK.

The Guardian : It is a reputable newspaper with a focus on current affairs, politics, and law. Reading it will help you stay up-to-date with legal and political issues, which are relevant to the LNAT exam. For the January 2025 intake, applicants can take the LNAT between 1 September 2023 and 31 July 2024. Notes

Plentyofquestions!.(Mostpassageshave5questionseach(?),unlikeintheLNAT,wherethereare6passageswith3and6passageswith4questions.) Once you understand the test, it’s time to learn LNAT strategies. The best way to learn these is through LNAT workshops or a self-paced online LNAT course . You may take the test on any day when there is availability at your chosen test centre between those dates. The earlier you book, the more chance you have of getting an appointment on the day of your choice. You are therefore strongly advised to begin making arrangements as soon as possible.

You may only sit the LNAT once between 1 September 2023 and 31 July 2024. If you sit it twice during that period, the later sitting of the two will automatically be invalidated and the later result will be void. Taking any type of test or exam can be stressful, but you can help build your confidence by doing a bit of preparation ahead of time.
