Another thing I noticed is that turning on Adaptive-Sync grays out the brightness control, which is unusual. The set white level is higher than 200 nits, settling in around 275. If you work in a dark room, the XG341C-2K will be quite bright with Adaptive-Sync engaged. ViewSonic® does not recommend the use of any ammonia or alcohol-based cleaners on the display screen or case. Some chemical cleaners have been reported to damage the screen and/or case of the monitor.With such a vibrant screen and fast refresh rate, there is always the urge to pair it with a next-generation console, the Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, I feel this is one area where consoles lag behind the PC. Although it can be used on both, the Xbox Series X is better suited to its native 21:9 aspect ratio, and even that does not feel as good as it does on the PC. Standard Color The monitor comes with several display industry color standards. Each color mode can be selected for specific monitor applications. Viewsonic’s Elite XG341C-2K has plenty of potential and delivers in HDR, but strange decisions in the on-screen menu and default settings plague the monitor’s controls and motion performance.
