About this deal

The little side story with earth tribe general Geun-fae and his wife Yuno was really cute. I feel like he's going to play a bigger part going forward? I hope so, because I really like him (and his wonderful hair haha) The story follows Yona, a princess of the fictional kingdom of Kohka. She is forced to go on the run with her friend and bodyguard Son Hak when her childhood friend Su-won murders her father and takes the throne. Yona of the Dawn 21 Limited Edition with original anime DVD] (in Japanese). Hakusensha . Retrieved August 31, 2016. I don’t think I’ve been as nervous to write a review on Goodreads as I am right now…*nervous laughter* Volume 14: Read January 18th 2022 - Poor Jaeha. His rivalry with Hak does make me giggle though. I wonder how this town and the drug Nadai is going to play into the rest of the story? Yona of the Dawn 9 Drama CD First Press Limited Edition (Hana to Yume COMICS)] (in Japanese). ASIN 4592105516.

Queen Emeraldas Volume 1 Review

Yona of the Dawn Illustrated collection limited edition 23] (in Japanese). Hakusensha . Retrieved July 8, 2018. I don’t know if I’m just officially a lightweight because of mainly reading “fluffy” fiction or if this genuinely was a hard first volume because of the events that took place. I mean, I knew it would NOT be a fluffy read due to the blurb alone, but I don’t think it would be quite as dark? heartbreaking? as it was. Not sure what the right word is, but I definitely won’t be underappreciating my Snow White with the Red Hair volumes anytime soon! LOL! (Definitely missing those fluffy characters!) The plot is amazing too! It has a full Epic fantasy scope, with a chosen one, a journey and a quest. There are dragons and magic and everything you’d expect. Frankly it’s AWESOME. However, it’s still ongoing, and while they have over 100 chapters already and I don’t feel they’re padding or adding any unnecessary arcs, I worry (as usual) about the future of the story. The coolest element of this series is Yona herself. She’s introduced as a somewhat spoiled but good hearted girl who lost her mother. Then she loses her father and loses all emotion. She’s been through a lot and the narrative feels like it could be going in the direction of retribution for her in reclaiming the kingdom. Anyone else think this sounds like Daenerys? Volume 4: Stoooop...Hak's protectiveness and annoyance with Gija (the white dragon) just shows how much he loooooves Yona. It's hilarious how often Gija and Hak rile each other up XD. When Gija sees Yuna practising with her bow & arrow, and then remembers how she said she wants to protect Hak he says "Ah. She feels the same way, doesn't she?" This absolutely melted my heart. and the Blue Dragon! I already feel for him, what a lonely upbringing :(

The only other quibble is how Kusanagi shows Yona escaping the murderer of her father. It’s not entirely believable nor is it clear how it even happens. She’s rescued by her friend, but after a panel of them fleeing they’re simply alone. It’s a dramatic beat that loses its drama due to this confusing segue. Akatsuki no Yona OAD Ship With 19th Manga Volume in September". Anime News Network. May 24, 2015 . Retrieved September 18, 2020. THIS WAS SO GOOD. I’ve actually seen the first episode of the anime before, so it was interesting going in already having certain scenes playing out in my head. I definitely felt far more attached to the characters while reading this though! I really don't feel like adding 30+ volumes to my "read" list (I feel like these mess up my yearly challenges) so I'm going to just write a review for each volume here and adjust the star rating as needed (i.e. so far I'm loving the series and giving it 5 stars overall!) Volume 9: Oh Sinha, I loved the moments between him and Yona in this. He's had such a tough life but he's found Yona now <3Yona of the Dawn Drama CD First Press Limited Edition 15] (in Japanese). We don’t really get very much information on this world, the people, or the kingdom. It makes sense, but it still leaves me yearning to understand at least a little bit! The Japanese manga series Yona of the Dawn is written and illustrated by Mizuho Kusanagi. Kusanagi began serializing the manga in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume shōjo manga magazine on August 4, 2009. Favorite moment was definitely Hak seeing the King was NOT a coward. I just really really enjoyed that scene for some reason. Yona of the Dawn Gets New 2-Part OVA Adapting Manga's Zeno Arc". Anime News Network. March 17, 2016 . Retrieved September 18, 2020. Viz Media announced their license to the series during their panel at New York Comic Con on October 9, 2015, along with their plans to publish the first volume in summer 2016. [2] Adapted into anime (which doesn’t happen to every manga mind you), series creator Mizuho Kusanagi has crafted a historical drama that involves royalty and the death of a king. In a lot of ways this series feels like it could fit in the Game of Thrones universe as the drama is strong and the characters even stronger. Yona of the Dawn is rated Teen and has incidents of violence and at least one instance of someone trying to put the moves on the princess so if either bother you then be weary of this book. Otherwise welcome to the kingdom of Kohka and the three Rs (rebellion, regicide, and recycling...no wait that's not it...oh yeah romance.) :)
