It's a mineral sunscreen, which can often be better suited for people with sensitive skin who find that chemical sunscreens cause irritation, as it uses titanium dioxide for a "physical" sun barrier rather than a chemical component. Keep active, feel clean and stay smelling sweet in the heat with this all-natural deodorant that neutralises odour to keep underarms fresh, even on the hottest summer days. Like the product from Ultrasun, this sunscreen from Malin + Goetz isn't a moisturiser, but rather a sunscreen with enough moisturising properties to be classed as a 2-in-1 product. SAP (the vit C derivative, not the enterprise software, obvs) is a promising derivative that has great stability up to pH 7. The challenge with it thoughis skin penetration. Unfortunately, it seems to be limited, or to quote a great article from theJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology "topically applied ascorbyl phosphate salts are, at very best, poorly absorbed in comparison with AA". Regarding conversion to AA, there seems to be no data about it, so we can neither deny nor confirm it.

Due to the added SPF protection, I use this as a day-time moisturiser only. As previously mentioned, I personally layer a sunscreen over the top. It's a new generation sunscreen agent that was specifically designed for high SPF and good UVA protectionand based on a 2007 study that compared 18 sunscreen agents available in the EU it really had the best SPF protection(they used the highest concentration allowed by EU regulations from each 18 sunscreens and Trinosorb S gave an SPF 20 all by itself). This sunscreen uses so-called "chemical", or organic UV filters (organic simply means that their molecules contain atoms of carbon). These filters typically give good sun protection and rarely leave a white cast, but they can be irritating for sensitive skin. These are the sun protection ingredients in this sunscreen: tinosorb s 5.30% - 7.90% and butyloctyl salicylate 2.00% - 3.00%. Irritation riskIt has an unctuous texture that we can only describe as heavenly, and it doesn't take long to absorb, which is extremely useful in hot weather. It's also great for use in cold weather thanks to the inclusion of Antarcticine, a glycoprotein known for its extreme resistance to cold conditions.

It does a great job at moisturising the skin without feeling heavy. In addition to the SPF30 protection, you also get Niacinamide and Vitamin C in the formulation for brightening and evening skin tone. It wouldn’t be a FaceTheory product without added Vitamin E for protection against inflammation. They’ve also added a bit of Lactic Acid to further skin brightening. It contains good moisturizing ingredients and can double as a hydrating day cream. This product prevents early signs of aging by protecting against sun damage (all broad spectrum sunscreens do that).
