The only difference is that the bitrate of the front camera is slightly lower at the Highest (Extreme) setting on the 3CH model (16Mbps) vs 1CH/2CH (25Mbps). This allows to add the USB Interior IR camera videos while maintaining a combined bitrate and total recording time similar to a 2CH model.
