About this deal

Will is everything that I would expect of the description that the blurb gives us. The more we stay in his head in the present, the more I see his patient calculated steps towards his goals. He was stalking his future with precise moves, quiet secrets and unending perseverance and determination. Of course, my favourite part was the contrast between Will from the past and Will from the present. My favourite part of Pen's writing is when she works her magic on a character's personality. She can write a character in all their greyness and all their glory so well that it's wonderful to watch that unfold. Will was not what you'd expect from a Horseman, but it worked so beautifully and he was so heart-warming and throughout the book, I was alternatively proud and touched by William Aaron Paine Grayson III. The boy deserved it all. Maybe it’s easier to see everything as just good or bad, with no shades of gray in between? Maybe that’s why we live in a society that has grown increasingly unforgiving when people make mistakes or are seen as less than perfect? What I love about this series by Penelope Douglas is that she confronts the truth: people are complicated. People are not just good or bad. We all have light and darkness within us. And that can be discomfiting and a little scary. Will is his best friend and the brother he never had. Their relationship isn't without it's complications, but nobody can deny their strong bond or the deep love they have for one another. Aside from being the wrap up of the entire Devil's Night series, Nightfall is Will's story, and you get a lot of the Damon/Will dynamic throughout this book. If you enjoy their unique friendship, you won't be disappointed. ALL IN ALL, I loved past chapters more and adored young Will and loved Emory BUT lets be real the stars are mostly for Damon.*

Lots of the books specifically fit into the genre of romantic suspense. Essentially, this means that elements of mystery and thriller have been added to the plot.Jordan and Cole are a young couple who have just moved into Pike’s house, a gentleman willing to bail them out of a ‘homeless situation’—and, in return, the couple has to help him with his house. We were perfect together. Until we met.” is the perfect description of their relationship. Misha realizes that Ryan wasn’t the girl she had presented herself to be in her letters. Ryen is not as humble as she made it seem—she is mean, cowardly, and a bully. For those seeking to find a novel filled with an open mind of the sexual world, as well as being emotionally corrupted by the queen of all dark romances, then this series is one that you do not want to miss out on. This finale to an incredible series is what we all needed for sure. My hands are itching for Penelope's next novel, which I am hoping is Motel since I am a huge avid of Birthday Girl myself. Let's just wait to see what happens, and I cannot wait! But before I could escape from his lap, he grabbed my chin in one hand and wrapped his other arm around my waist, pulling me in. Against his body, and whispering so softly no one could hear him but me. I must point out that Will was not a character that particularly intrigued me - but the book started with such a crazy bang, that for a moment I got dizzy!!! 💥💣

Penelope graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Northern Iowa because her father wanted to “just get the damn degree!” She didn’t like Public Administration, so she pursued a Master’s degree specializing in Education at Loyola University in New Orleans.Sending Damon to prison was the worst thing Winter could’ve done. It didn’t matter that he did the crime or that she wished he was dead. Winter thought he’d cool off in jail and be anything but the horror he was, or that at the very least she’d have time to disappear before he got out. Michael decides that this is the perfect time to get revenge for his high school friends, who were sent to prison thanks to Erika. He pulled me in, and I opened my mouth to protest, but instead of a kiss, he just pulled me into his arms, pressed my head to his shoulder, and wrapped his arms around me so tight, it felt like he was the one about to break, not me."

Yes, this one was also taboo and too spicy for some, but the story was raw and beautifully written. My rating is 3.75. I wish with all my heart it was higher. The epilogue definitely raised it for me, but the imbalance won out because it left me feeling like a big part of the book was missing. I'm going to write the trigger warnings for this book, do expand to read or skip if you don't wish to know.Corrupt (Devil's Night #1) ♕ Hideaway (Devil's Night #2) ♕ Kill Switch (Devil's Night #3) ♕ Nightfall (Devil's Night #4) When I tell you I wanted to strangle Martin for doing this to her i´m not even kidding, my blood was literally boiling. From start to finish, Douglas’s long-awaited Devils Night Series finale, Nightfall, pulsates with an underground cult-like heartbeat that lives on the very visceral edge of Magical Realism. Complex battle lines of love and abuse are formed from the start. Here, Douglas shines a light in the darkness, delivering some philosophically significant one-liners and thoughts that ground her characters in the heart of the human experience. Yet, many of the characters appear in multiple books, so it’s worth continuing the series if you enjoy the writing of Penelope Douglas. My boyfriend’s older brother is like that scary movie that you peek through your hand to watch. He's handsome, strong, and completely terrifying. The star of his college’s basketball team and now gone pro, he’s more concerned with the dirt on his shoe than me.

Anyway, after that epilogue i'm pretty sure that second-gen books are coming but not anytime soon, cause hellbent series comes first (i'm lowkey scared for that series now)

Publication Order of Devil's Night Books

This book was like a roller coaster ride in an abandoned scary park. It had dark and dirty scenes... action and mystery... moments that made me smile and chilling moments that made me gasp - and yes, there were also moments when I felt a little bored. 😬 Emory annoyed me too. I felt she was too hard on herself and on everyone. At first, she was interesting, and then slowly towards the end I was tired of her hypocrisy. It was irritating how she treated Will. Her attitude towards Alex also annoyed me. And how she acted as if she is better than Micheal, Rika, Banks, Kai, Damon, and Winter. Don’t you know that you can have anything you want?” His eyes searched mine. “I’ll hurt anyone for you.” The epilogue was so ahasdhajs 🦋 They all have kids now and i don't know why but i find it difficult to imagine them as a 30+ married and with kids. Damon my husband got 5 kids now🥹. This man carried the whole series oops i said it🤭
