I mean cmon, bread and butter. It could have been so good.

Third, there were so many instances where I either thought something was going to add to the plot, or there were random things thrown in that literally did nothing to the plot and I'm like, why is this happening??? Like the Gregory situation, I thought it was gonna be so much more. Like maybe he'd become a stalker, or wouldn't take no for an answer and seek some revenge. Nope. Literally nothing. Then the ex wife? What the hell was even the point of that? It added nothing to the plot and then our FMC acts completely out of character. Just so many wtf moments. You can find every cliche out there just to make story crawl forward. She saw pictures of him with another woman and runs away. He grovels. She some thing again and runs away and he begs again. Same thing again and again... I understand that she’s a UK author, but if the book is set in America the characters should sound American, not English (Sienna is the obvious exception). THE GRAMMAR. I COULDN’T GET PAST IT. I almost DNF’d because the grammar was so bad. It went beyond missing commas and misspellings. I’m talking about straight up using words that didn’t make sense in the context they were being used. There were moments I found myself thinking, “was this book originally written in a different language?”This book was the perfect combination of spice and plot. I don’t want to give too much away as everyone who decides to read this should try to go in blind. Male MC: Grayson Ward is an ex-Marine turned Mafia hitman. He went through a heartbreaking betrayal in the past and has since avoided any romantic relationships. That is until he meets his beautiful sunshine, Maddie. Grayson is 35 and has sandy colored hair and icy-blue eyes. Keller was everything, he was massive and tattooed. Our mafia enforcer who is also a really famous boxer. They instantly have chemistry, and the spice starts off pretty early so this is by no means a slow burn romance. He already feels protective of her and does everything he can to keep her safe, not only from her ex but from the mafia ties he is connected to. Maddie was a successful makeup artist. Not only was her mom not supportive of her career, she was also pressured to get married before her childbearing days were over. She went on many dates in search of a husband, yet no one gave her butterflies like Grayson did. Luna Mason is a talented author with a passion for writing romance novels. She is known for her ability to create compelling characters and intriguing storylines that keep readers engaged from start to finish. This book started off with a bang and I was hooked from chapter 1🪝 Grayson was in the army a few years before and one day he finds his Brest friend dead and that his wife has been cheating in him😬 I was thinking woow all this already okay I’m so ready for the rest😂 he moves to new York and meets a stranger in a bar and next minute he’s become a hitman for the mafia☠️ I didn’t want to put it down it kept me wanting more🫣 Keller: A former underground street fighter turned heavyweight boxing champion, Keller is a complex character with a dark past. He is a monster who hunts in the shadows and is trapped in the mafia until his debts are paid. While I was reading Distance, I could not help but desperately wish that Maddie and Grayson's story would come out the very next day. These two had me in a chokehold the entire time, they were the definition of angst whenever they interacted, and their book was everything it should have been. When the truth is unmasked, could she still love me? Would love be enough to battle our demons and come out on top? There were a lot of issues with the book that pulled me out of the story. It needed more time in a editor’s hands. There were a lot of typos/missed words/issues with tense. She used the phrase “blood curling” to describe a scream. The phrase is “blood curdling”.
