Thanks to CleverClean technology, the Dolphin creates a passage for itself while cleaning. It doesn’t move around randomly sweeping whatever it finds. Instead, it scans the pool’s length and determines a path that’ll allow it to clear the pool out completely. Afterward, it follows its course until it finishes cleaning. A pool cleaner’s effectiveness was scored based on how well it removed debris from each our pool. The best pool cleaners received high scores if it was easy for us to remove debris from the product, as well as clean or replace the filter.
When considering its high suction rate and the large size of its filter basket, this is generally true, but it may take longer if the pool is extra dirty. Lightweight and Easy to Handle.It’s easy to take for granted how important this feature is. Bulky, complicated robotic pool cleaners tend to cost more stress than what they’re worth. The Dolphin Explorer E30 does its job without being cumbersome or requiring the user’s manual to always be at hand. Our pool is located near a tree and often collects leaves and other debris. The cleaner was effective in removing debris and leaves, which we appreciated as we were manually cleaning the pool prior.We especially love that this product is cordless, which is a not so common feature. Plus, it’s very good at navigating on its own, and is also much quieter than other robotic pool cleaners—in fact, we tended to forget about it while it was working. It doesn’t come with a slew of features, but it’s very easy to set up and drop into the pool (thanks to an included hook), and it runs for over 90 minutes on one battery charge. The first filter set is a polyester sieve. It’s responsible for large waste, such as tree leaves and insects. On the other hand, the second set consists of ultra-fine filters that clean tiny dirt and dust. For the most part, the robotic pool cleaner doesn’t require any effort on your part to run. Plus, it’ll clean your pool thoroughly, even if it’s large in size. During my 30-day testing period, I found that the Dolphin Explorer E30 completed its cleaning cycle within 2-3 hours on average. That's not all that is missing though. It also misses two other features we loved - remote control capability and the cleaning history. You won't be able to spot clean or control its path or movement. Other Dolphin cleaners with an app often show the cleaning history also, such as gallons per hour filtered, killowatts saved, total distance traveled, and more. While the cleaning history isn't needed, the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus not including the remote control capability really missed the mark. Automatic pool cleaners (or pool vacuums) remove debris from the surface of the pool floor and walls. While some cleaners are powered by your pool's suction or water pressure, newer robotic cleaners have their own power source and container to avoid straining your pool's existing equipment. Some non-robotic cleaners have their own containers, while others use your pool's existing filtration equipment to house debris. We felt that the removal cord was too short, which made it harder to get it out of the pool. It also lingers in the deep end, so you have to be mindful of ensuring it cleans the whole pool.A Good Investment.Being energy-efficient, sustainably designed, and highly durable, the Dolphin Explorer E30 might be the last robotic pool cleaner you’ll need to buy in a long while. Overall, we’d say that this particular model represents a good investment for buyers.
The pool cleaner is 14 pounds, so it’s fairly lightweight in comparison to other models. Although we found it easy to use, we would have preferred a built-in handle to help get the cleaner in and out of the pool.
What customers don’t like about it
Those with an in-ground pool will appreciate the Polaris Vac-Sweep 280 Pressure Inground Pool Cleaner. While testing this model, we found that it was effective during each cleaning cycle and was easy to clean after each use as well. The final decision, of course, rests with you. For all that it doesn’t have, this particular model makes up for it with sheer cleaning power and an uncomplicated approach to pool cleaning. If you are feeling skeptical about investing in this model because of its high price tag, we can vouch that it's worth the investment. It not only saved us hours of manually cleaning our pool, but it also got better at mapping the pool over time. After three months of regular use during the summer, we didn't notice any negative change in its performance and are excited to break it out for more seasons in the sun. We hate to sound like a broken record here, but these two models are the same basic cleaner but with a few extras for the CC Plus. It follows that the CC is more affordable. You’re paying for less. Sometimes, when two models are pretty different and have different prices, it’s warranted to devote a little time to sort out which is a better value and for what reasons. If you want Dolphin Nautilus-quality cleaning, you can get it for less with the CC. Durability Edge: None
The cleaner has a brush on the front that'll work to scrub grime. After the cleaning cycle is finished, you'll appreciate the three-liter canister that has a transparent top, so you'll be able to tell when it needs to be emptied. We did note that we would have preferred a more clear indicator that the cleaning cycle was complete, as opposed to the small red light that turns off.
