About this deal

G7th initially released their Performance 1 guitar capo when they first began. However, they’ve further improved upon its design with Performance 2. A few key differences between Performance 1 and Performance 2 include:

Improved release mechanism – The release mechanism for the Performance 2 capo has been significantly improved. The placement now makes it much easier to remove the capo from your guitar’s fretboard using only one hand. You might be confused by all this talk of fretboard radiuses, but you needn't be. Radius refers to the curvature of this vital part of your guitar. Some guitars (like certain vintage Fenders) feature rounded boards, whereas others are near flat. While each has its own benefits, suffice it to say that different fretboard designs represent a compromise in capo design. To register your warranty online please fill out the form below. You can also register by post if you prefer. There are loads of different capos, all of which will work on different instruments. At first, it can seem a little confusing, but with our expert knowledge, you'll soon have the right one for your instrument. What is fretboard radius? Generally, capos can be divided into radiused capos for rounder fretboards; flatter designs, typically for shreddy SuperStrats and classical guitars; and all-in-ones – capos that either accommodate different radiuses (such as the G7th) or incorporate both a flat surface and a rounded one into their design. Do capos fit all guitars? Overall, my first impressions were very positive. The capo has a great design (which I’ll discuss more below), it’s minimalistic and works great. G7th Performance 2 Compared to a Traditional Capo A capo is fastened or clamped across the strings of your guitar, essentially changing the tuning of your instrument in one fell swoop. Instead of changing the pitch down it changes it up – albeit only for the open strings, as your fretted notes remain the same. Your capo will also change the feel of your guitar strings, as it shortens the scale length when applied.

This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. Many different styles of capo are available, but the most important aspect to bear in mind is how it will affect the sound or tuning of your instrument: if a capo clamps down too hard, it will pull the strings out of tune. If it doesn’t apply enough pressure some of the strings will buzz instead of ringing cleanly. Our free lifetime warranty covers any manufacturing fault or failure of the mechanism during normal use. It is not an insurance policy; here are some examples of what is not covered by the warranty:To play this chord, you must avoid playing the top 3 strings. Learn to do this here: How To Skip Strings While Strumming Why does this work? As far as usability goes, the G7th Performance 2 capo is just as straightforward and easy to use as a traditional capo. I wouldn’t say that you’re able to change frets any faster than using a trigger capo, however, timing should be about on par. First and foremost, we are guitarists, and we want other players to find the right product for them. So we take into careful consideration everything from budget to feature set, ease of use and durability to come up with a list of what we can safely say are the best pedalboard power supplies on the market right now.

The Adaptive Radius Technology string pad distributes pressure over the strings perfectly by responding to the fingerboard radius of the guitar on which it is placed. This means the tuning stability is unrivalled when using a capo with ART ®. It's worth remembering that, just like fretting the guitar with your finger, all capos will alter your guitar’s intonation to some degree. The best ones will have been designed to effect it the least, reducing the need to retune your guitar after fitting one. This works because the C7 shape, is moveable. This means that you can move this chord shape around the fret board to play the chord in a different key.

This engages your muscle memory and teaches you to remember the chord. However, it’s vital that you can play the chord correctly BEFORE you squeeze your fretting hand. It’s unlike a trigger capo where once you squeeze to open the capo you can feel the tension. The Performance 2 capo doesn’t feel like it creates tension at all when you open / close it. We guarantee that your chords will sound amazing if you follow these steps. 1) Squeeze Your Fretting Hand After You’ve Learned A Chord Correctly Need to move your capo mid-song? No problem! Just grab the Axis and move it. The springs deal with the tensioning for you. As long as you’re careful not to bend the strings in the process, capos don’t come easier to use than this.

As we’re talking about how the G7 chord can be played on guitar, in today’s lesson we’re going to refer to this chord as the ‘G7 guitar chord’. G7 Guitar Chord (D7 Shape) Make sure each note is clear. You don’t want ANY dead notes in a guitar chord (unless they’re marked ‘x’). How we choose productsThe price point of the G7th Performance 2 capo is higher than other entry-level capos out there. However, I do truly believe it is worth the cost. The fact that it feels quite durable and won’t harm the finish of your guitar are two huge pluses in my books. Even though the G7 chord isn’t featured heavily in this song, it does pop up in the verse. You can listen to this song here on Spotify. Primarily a guitar capo is used for changing the key of your instrument. For example, if you place a capo on the second fret of your guitar and play the chord shape that would ordinarily be an open E major, you’ll now be playing an F# major instead. This can be really useful when working with different singers, as they may need the pitch of the song changed to match their respective vocal range. We recommend getting a capo with adjustable tension, like our Performance 2, Newport or UltraLight capo. This will allow you to stay in tune when using the capo and avoid strings buzzing.
