Instant air purifiers also employ Plasma Ion Technology which is an ionizer in a nutshell. It produces negative ions which attach themselves to particles, making them bigger and easier to capture.

Both Instant air purifiers offer the same 4-stage air filtration system with 3-on-1 air filter and ionizer. The only difference between their filters is its size, as the bigger the filter is, the more airborne particles it can capture in one go and it requires less time to clean air in a room.
After plugging in I turned the power on and set it to “auto”, I also turned on the ION generator. The controls and layout of them on top of the unit are very well placed and easy to use. Besides using “auto” you can manually adjust the 3 fan speed settings. On high this little unit moves a lot of air, but it’s a little too loud for having that run in the office all the time. There’s also a light switch that allows you to adjust the ambient lighting around the exhaust at the top, and there’s only one color.

In addition, it has a one-year limited warranty. I know it is not a good thing compared to other air purifiers. But I am satisfied as it is cheaper than other purifying units and competes with them in performance.

When it comes time to replace the filter, it’s easy enough but could be nicer. You basically have to flip the unit upside down, rotate and remove the bottom cover, and then remove and replace the filter. I’ve seen other (more expensive) units that you replace the filter by rotating the top portion of the housing and lifting it up and off the bottom to gain access to the filter rather than having to flip the whole unit upside down, etc… This isn’t necessary bad, but could be a tad nicer. Regarding the filter; beware that with all similar air purifiers, the replacement filters are … not inexpensive. This filter retails for about 30% of the initial cost of the unit and, depending on how much work it needs to do to clean your air, you might need to buy two of them each year. In short, the Instant AP100 air purifier is suitable enough to fit in a small bedroom, office, or kitchen. As for air purification, this air purifier is a good choice for 126 sqft 5x per hour or up to 615 sqft 1x per hour, as evidenced by this review.
