By now I know this drydown progression inside out: first this somewhat artificial but nice cherry of one of those cheap little children's cherry lollies (who actually says "artificiality" is negative?) - but then the small but subtle hammer of change winks through: the cherry artificiality disappears within ten minutes, cherry pipe tobacco comes through, a certain seriousness. Careful, now begins the interesting part of Bogart's Homme. Ich habe diesen Duft wirklich schätzen gelernt, habe ihn eine Woche lang täglich getragen, von eher naja bis great! Again, not a must buy but definitely a good inexpensive fragrance created by a master perfumer and with good performance. Es ist oft der Konsenz, der mich langweilt. Und trotzdem gibt es immer wieder solche, die hervor stechen. Der Bogart Homme ist so einer. Aber auch nur, weil die Leute hinter Bogart bei ihren (auch Ted Lapidus) Düften oft die Eier haben, anders sein zu wollen. Es ist diese gewolle Bogart-Schrulligkeit, die ich unheimlich gern mag. Und siehe da: Homme ist auch so ein Kandidat, nur seriöser, aber deutlich weniger Dior-Sauvage-Konsens. And look: Homme is also such a candidate, only more serious, but clearly less Dior Sauvage consensus. Ouch! How come I have not yet reviewed, or even commented on, this gem? Bogart pour Homme has been part of my arsenal since April 2018, and I only now realize that I haven't spent a few words to tell so much beauty. Bogart Pour Homme is a bargain, powerhouse scent from the well-respected yet under-appreciated house of Jacques Bogart. The fragrance is genuinely in my strings, albeit I rarely like too sweet scents. Here the tonka goes down heavy, but behind an overwhelming tobacco sweetness, there is something stylish, vaguely mysterious, and a little retro that makes me appreciate it and not a little. I was expecting a super-sweet, bombastic cherry tobacco based on some commentary surrounding this scent, but that's not what this is. This is really a powdery fougere-gourmand that has some clear resemblance to Rochas Man, which makes sense, considering that Maurice Roucel did Rochas Man five years before working on the Bogart alongside Norbert Bijaoui. It's a bit simpler and louder than Rochas Man, but they're definitely relatives, with similar uses of lavender.The performance is great. Projects pretty strong in the first hour or so, and lasts a good 8h easily. The price is ridiculously cheap. I found a bottle of 100ml for less than 20€... Mittlerweile kenne ich diesen Drydown-Verlauf in- und auswendig: zuerst diese etwas künstliche aber nice Kirsche eines dieser billigen kleinen Kinderkirschlollys (wer sagt eigentlich, dass "Künstlichkeit" negativ ist?) - dann aber blinzelt der kleine aber feine Wandlungshammer durch: das Kirschigkünstliche verschwindet innerhalb von zehn Minuten, Kirschpfeifentabak kommt durch, eine gewisse Seriosität. Obacht, jetzt beginnt der interessante Teil des Bogarts Homme. C’est en 1975 que l'histoire de la maison Bogart débute. Groupe indépendant et familial, Bogart n’a cessé, au fil des années, d’acquérir encore plus de notoriété. Sa particularité ? Además, a nadie en mi entorno le ha gustado y hasta yo mismo me he mareado con una sola aplicación, uf...Su secado es una delicia para los sentidos, y de masificado pues nada es. Precio-calidad son inmejorables y por supuesto lo recomiendo. Es fuerte pero no te agobiara en ningún momento. 10-10 Nautica Voyage is probably the best inexpensive fragrance out there. You can buy a 100ml bottle for 16€. It's super cheap and the smell is not that cheap but rather unique and cool green apple-floral-woody concoction. Bogart pour Homme belongs to the aromatic, fougére, and oriental families. До этого в коллекцию добавились One Man Show Oud Edition, Silver Scent, Furyo. Наверное, кого то удивит, почему в списке нет обязательных One Man Show и Bogart, поэтому поясню, они были у меня ранее и были прекрасны, но нынешнее их звучание после переформулировки - это совсем другая история, написанная уже не для меня. К слову, Furyo тоже, однозначно, но это 100%-ный винтаж и я об этом знал, который по не понятной мне причине периодически заставляет возвращаться к себе. Возможно, дело в Civettictis civetta... Pese a su fuerza se hace muy llevadero, es menos explosivo que las series de One Man Show -por ejemplo- y vuelvo a destacar su elegancia-sensualidad-masculinidad. Menos veranos funciona por todo el año para mi gusto olfativo al menos.

Der Start von dem Duft ist sehr Bergamotte lastig und bricht auch keine Latte vom Zaun. Sehr frischer Sommerduft der sich aber schnell verwandelt zu einem frischen fruchtigen Traum verziert mit leichtem Puder.

Review of Bogart pour Homme

It is a magnificent example where a balanced blend of a handful of notes creates an entirely new and unified olfactory impression. A cherry tobacco note dominates in this perfume and to my olfactory sense. Still, in the pyramidal notes, there is neither cherry nor tobacco. Just to give you a hint, Bogart pour Homme uncannily likens Le Mâle Eau de Toilette and A*Men Pure Havane. There are plenty of barbershop vibes in common. To some extent, the cologne also shares some nuances with TL pour Lui Eau de Toilette, which doesn't surprise me at all. In fact, behind the two fragrances, there are the same expert hands of the master perfumers, Maurice Roucel and Norbert Bijaoui. Es ist wirklich erstaunlich das aus diesem furchtbar hässlichen Billigflakon so was tolles raus kommt. Und das für den Preis. Overall, to me, it's an easy winner, very useful, a versatile cold weather mostly-masculine offering that's a bargain and a great performer.
