About this deal

Single malt scotch is produced by a single distillery. There are around 100 distilleries in Scotland that make single malt whiskey and each has its own distinct flavor characteristics and notes. Single malts tend to have more flavor than blended scotch and are used to create those blends. Knob Creek and Crown Royal are both premium whiskey brands, but they have distinct differences in terms of taste and production methods. Crown Royal is a Canadian whiskey made from a blend of different grains, while Knob Creek is a bourbon whiskey made from a blend of corn, wheat, and barley malt. As a result, Crown Royal has a slightly sweeter and milder flavor profile, while Knob Creek has a rich and smooth flavor profile with a slightly spicy finish. Is Knob Creek good with Coke?

Proof: The amount of alcohol in the whiskey, displayed as double that of the alcohol percentage. E.g., bourbon containing 50 percent alcohol is labeled as 100 proof. High Rye: A bourbon with a higher than normal percentage of mash bill made up of rye (as opposed to using more corn, wheat, or barley, the other main grains used in bourbon mash). This tends to produce spicier flavors in the bourbon. The brands are too numerous to list and often include American-made whiskeys that do not fall into the rye or bourbon stylest. That's because the brand's production doesn't prescribe to the labeling requirements of either of those for one reason or another. Knob Creek comes in a rectangular bottle with a corked or twist-on cap and wax-sealed top. The bourbon has a dark, amber-brown color. While the exact blends are often unknown and very unique, it is not uncommon for 20 to 25 whiskeys to be used in a blend with around 20 to 50 percent of those comprised of single malt whiskeys. The higher-end blended Scotches will include more single malts, which leads to a deeper flavor. Single Barrel: A bourbon made using single barrels, providing a higher range of variation in flavor and the chance at specific, unique characteristics.

A blended whiskey must contain at least 20 percent straight whiskey. Premium brands may include as many as 75 different straight whiskeys and grain neutral spirits. This art of blending produces a balanced, rich, light-bodied whiskey, each with its own character. Time sleeping in wood gives bourbon flavors that don’t emanate from the distillation process. The longer the liquid spends aging, the more impact the wood has on the resulting whiskey. But to be called bourbon, there is no requirement for time in the barrel. To be called "straight bourbon" the expression must be two years old. If the whiskey is under four years the bottle must carry an age statement. So, if a bourbon carries no age statement, you know each component used in the blending spent at least four years in a barrel. Outside of Rare Breed, the Wild Turkey portfolio is a veritable buffet of bourbon flavours. The Master Keep One is an acclaimed release delivers rich and nostalgia-inducing aromas of sweet honey and brown spice, which come courtesy of a delicate toasted and charred oak. Meanwhile, the Longbranch collection offered a taste of sweet and smoky, with the addition of mesquite charcoal to the filtration process.
