About this deal

The D500 that i have not only heats up while making movies, it starts warming up while taking images in CH2. And by taking images i do no mean i am pressing the button until it takes 200 frames. I am a bird watcher and in i have to take images in CH2, 5 to 15 frames with one press max to get the desired shot. Have not played around with this or read how it works. Its works! and has a few settings to do different things. As for controls, nope that’s not opinion, it’s fact. If something takes two steps to do what can be done in a single step on the other, then it is slower on the 2 step approach. Also, if you have to dig into a menu on one body and the control is right in front of you on a dial for the other, it is simply faster. More third-party APS-C autofocus lenses for Nikon Z-mount coming soon: TTArtisan 35mm f/1.8, Meike 55mm f/1.4 and Sirui Sniper 23mm+33mm+56mm f/1.2 The Nikon D500 features low-power Bluetooth connectivity, to enable easy image transfer to a smartphone using Nikon's new SnapBridge software. On Android (and later iOS) devices, Nikon's SnapBridge software can be used to setup a connection to the smartphone, and then you can transfer images, shoot remotely, and add GPS information. With a compatible Android device you can also use NFC to connect the camera to the smartphone. Nikon D500 Handling

For my photography, I consider vertical grips essential and shooting the D500 vertically without one is something I find to be quite awkward to the point where I shoot less verticals, which is not a good thing. Equipment should not dictate the kind of pictures taken. So the MB-D17 goes on and stays there. As a bonus, you can load an extra battery to help with “range anxiety”. Having to remove the vertical grip to get at the in-body battery is a small annoyance that comes with using the accessory grip. I always set the camera to use the MB-D17 battery first which often means at the end of the day there is no need to remove the primary battery for charging. Recommended Camera and Menu Settings The Nikon D500 is Nikon's top of the range APS-C (DX) sensor Digital SLR, with a 20 megapixel sensor, the camera offers 10fps continuous shooting, 4K video recording and built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. As Nikon's fastest DX APS-C camera it shoots at 10fps, compared to the Nikon D300s which could reach 8fps with the optional battery grip, and the Nikon D7200, which can shoot at 6fps at full resolution. Nikon D500 Features You can't change any of the camera settings from the app, and when you are remotely shooting, you can't change the settings on the camera either, which is a little frustrating. The app could definitely do with some improvement, especially when compared to other manufacturers remote shooting apps. There's an option on the camera that will automatically send photos to your smartphone once you've set up the connection, and there is an option to leave this transferring images when you've switched the camera off. This feature can be switched on and off, and if you're concerned about your battery life dropping, then you can switch on the Airplane mode, which will switch off all communications. The dste en-el18a doesn't use a tray. It also includes the end cap with a built in charger. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work with the generic grips?

If you get an error message saying: "Auto AF fine-tune is not available at current focus settings", then you need to make sure that the central focus point is selected, auto focus is set to single, and wide or normal area, rather than face detection focus. A tripod and static subject or focus point is recommended. Below are comparison shots with the D500 side-by-side with other Nikon DSLR cameras. The images are to scale giving an idea of the relative sizes. Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements andoptically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect theimagery.

You can create bookmarks and since its pdf have on every device so always with me: Of course, there is next-generation auto-focus which is functional down to an incredible -4 EV. So what is that in terms of actual exposure? 1 second at f/1.4 and ISO 3,200 – very dark! The LCD monitor has received a big spec bump with all the attention going to the tilt and touch capabilities. But note too the increase in resolution. More on that later. UHD (not quite 4K) movie recording is now possible. And with SnapBridge (Wi-Fi & Bluetooth), Nikon is making an attempt to provide wireless connectivity that is actually useful. The jury is still out on whether they have succeeded. NIKON D500 + 300mm f/4 @ 420mm, ISO 800, 1/200, f/8.0 Nikon D500 vs D5 Comparison How does the Nikon D500 hold up today, given that it was announced in 2016? Even though some of its specifications lag behind the newest mirrorless cameras, the Nikon D500 remains arguably the most advanced APS-C DSLR ever made. It might stay that way forever, since most camera companies have now shifted focus toward mirrorless. See more at DSLR vs Mirrorless Cameras. Nikon D500 Review: Introduction With the D500 anything moving I use 25-point dynamic-area AF & AF-C. It nails every shot every time. Never before possible with previous Nikon DX bodies.

Due to the better autofocus system and much bigger buffer, the D500 is the camera we would recommend to professional sports and wildlife photographers. However, the D7500 still has an impressive 51-point focusing system and 8 FPS, making it an excellent budget option. Used prices on both cameras are excellent these days, but a used D7500 is a particularly good value. The Nikon D500 makes time-lapse video incredibly easy. Set-up is simple: just choose the interval (time between shots) and the total shooting time and you’re good to go. One of the really nice features is the “smoothing” option, which compensates for extreme changes in exposure during the recording. Once all the images are captured, the camera combines them into the final video like the one you see below. Nikon D500: Performance PS .... If any of you guys use a third party grip are there any particular makes that you`d recommend Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy. However, it is all dependent on your budget and use of the grip, I have the following D7000 3rd Party Grip (Newer) Far to sloppy on my D7000 It feels fine when it is tightened onto the camera but it needs to be tightened up on a regular basis, a total waste of time, if you were out for a full day, feels cheap, buttons are not good a very loose feel to them and not a very tactile feel then moved to the meika a little better mainly because of the metal parts but still not that good button wise buttons got a bit of a sloppy feel to them after a couple of thousand presses. Perhaps surprisingly, the D500 is also larger and heavier than both the D610 and D750 FX bodies. You won’t be buying this one to save space and weight. It’s not until you get to the second largest camera in the Nikon DSLR range, the D810, that you have something a little larger than the D500. The D810’s grip is fatter than, but not as deep as, the D500’s grip. Both are very good but I have a preference for the D810’s shape. The optical viewfinder offers 100% coverage, and 1.0x magnification, with the widest viewing angle amongst APS-C DSLR cameras, at 30.8 degrees. There is a flattening of the surround of the Pixel grips direction button. AF ON is printed above the button rather than on it.
