About this deal

Some of the game consoles that the RG35xx can emulate also require BIOS files to run or at least to show the boot logo if you want a more authentic experience. The files are not ours, they belong to other people who have created them, dedicating their knowledge and time, trying to make it work as well as possible, but if something goes wrong, it’s not our fault 😉

The RG35XX features the Actions ATM7039S quad core processor running up to 1.6GHz with a quad core PowerVR SGX544MP GPU. Combined they provide enough performance for all 4 th generation gaming consoles and some newer ones. The retro gaming handheld comes with 256MB DDR3 RAM which is more than enough for the OS and emulator for the gaming consoles it supports. The 3.5” IPS display runs at a 640×480 resolution at 4:3 aspect ratio which is perfect for retro gaming. The RG35XX display looks bright and colourful and not so small it is hard to see any detail. HDMI output to a monitor or TV is supported via the Mini HDMI port found on the top of the retro gaming handheld, it also upscales your games to 720P on your big screen. There is an included 64GB Micro SD card with the RG35XX which contains the Linux based operating system and game storage. A second Micro SD card up to 512GB can be used for additional game storage on the retro gaming handheld. The RG35XX now also supports dual OS, allowing you to either use the official OS or GarlicOS We are also going to create a guide with the necessary adjustments in RetroArch to be able to enjoy each CORE as faithful to the original console that we are emulating whenever possible, since many people are tired of making changes in configurations here and there once and again and what they really want is to PLAY and not fidget so much. We are going to try to make it easy so that you only have to do it once! The gamepad driver has been rewritten from scratch and now acts like a proper XInput gamepad (this fixes the double-keyboard input issue in all keyboard-based cores, the RA search dialog and several other RA text input menu points but will break ports & apps with hardcoded gamepad mappings, because of this, a mirror of version 1.3.4 will be kept up for a month to give port and app developers time to adapt to these changes).

There are sixteen classic gaming systems supported on the RG35XX retro gaming handheld. You can relive or discover amazing games up to the fourth generation of consoles, also including Arcade and PS1. With a 4:3 aspect ratio screen, it is a good fit for emulating the original home console systems like the NES, Sega Genesis, SNES and PS1. With its small form factor it also replicates the feeling of playing those old school handhelds like the original Gameboy or Gameboy colour and emulates these and other handheld devices including GBA and GameGear with ease. As I have already commented on some occasion, this community that has formed on Reddit and Discord around this console is causing many things to appear about it on a daily basis; Firmware updates almost daily, Themes, Apps, Boot Screen, and more! To add games to your RG35xx you’ll want to remove the microSD card from the TF1 slot (or TF2 slot if you are using a two card setup) and insert it into your computer. If you need an SD card reader, this dual SD card reader works great. You will need to copy your ROM files over to the SD card into the appropriate folder that matches the system that the game belongs to.Compressing your ROMS is going to be especially useful for PS1 games as you can save space and clean up your files by formatting the games into CHD files. The latest version of the GarlicOs Custom Firmware, version 1.3.5, contains a substantial improvement in the system and with RetroArch, but on the other hand makes it incompatible with other things, which developers will have to solve in Ports and Apps. This is what the changelog indicates: For the most part, a 64GB SD card will be more then enough space to fit more games than you could possibly play, however, you can also compress your ROMs to fit even more games onto your device.
