Imam Abu 'Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Abu Bakr al-Ansari al-Qurtubi, was born in Cordoba, Spain, at the summlt of Its great period of Islamic civilisation. He was an eminent Maliki scholar who specialised in fiqh and Hadith. The breadth and depth of his scholarship are evident in his writings. The most famous of then is his twenty-volume tasfir al Jami' li-ahkam al-Qar'an,

Death is not the absolute end. It is just the discontinuation of unity between the body and soul. It is a change from one state to another and a transition from this present life to that of the hereafter The Creed of Imam Tahawi, translated by Mohammad Ibrahim Teymori. According to the translator himself, this translation is heavily indebted to the works of Hamza Yusuf and Iqbal Ahmad Azami. The foundation of one’s Islam is not firm unless it is upon outward submission and surrender to Allah. [41] Everything that occurs is according to His decree and will. His will is always accomplished. The will of the servants is only what He wills for them. Whatever He wills for them comes to be, and whatever He does not will for them does not come to be. [20] There are many audio commentaries on this book, such as the commentary by Shaykh Saalih Aal al-Shaykh, and the commentary by Shaykh Yoosuf al-Ghufays, and others. We say that Allah has taken Abraham, upon him be peace, as an intimate friend [72] and that He spoke directly to Moses, faithfully, truthfully, and in surrender to Allah. [73] Imam al-Qirtubi was a man of great modesty who disdained worldly honours and throughout his life wore the simple gown and cap of the ordinary Muslin. He traveled from Spain to the East and settled in Munya Abi'l-Khusavb. in Upper Egypt. where he died in 671H/ 1273 Clarifying the sound Muslim Creed and calling people to believe in it, is the most crucial issue because it is the foundation on which one's deeds are judged whether denied or accepted. This book gives clear explanation of the Muslim sound creed as pointed out in the Quran and Sunnah. Oliver Leaman, ed. (2015). The Biographical Encyclopedia of Islamic Philosophy. Bloomsbury Publishing. p.475. ISBN 9781472569455.

Everything that has come in authentic narrations from the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, is as he said and it means what he intended. [38] We do not insert our own opinions in it, nor do we imagine it according to our whims. The servant must know that the knowledge of Allah of all that exists in His creation has already preceded. He measured all of that with precise measurement, judgment, and finality. There is nothing to reduce it, nor amend it, nor remove it, nor change it, nor divert it, nor decrease it, nor add to it. [65] The Qur'an is the word of Allah. It came from Him as speech without it being possible to say how. He sent it down on His Messenger as revelation. Published in Riyadh by Maktabah al-Ubaykan in 1417 AH, with a pseudo-Salafi editing, however the muhaqqiq seems to have did a good job and didn’t fill the footnotes with too much of their usual rebuttals.

The Creed of Imam al-Tahawi, translated, introduced and annotated by Hamza Yusuf. First published in 2009 by Fons Vitae. [17] Aqidatut Tahoviya sharhining talxiysi, Muhammad Anwar Badakhshani's "Talkhees Sharh Al Aqeedah Al-Tahawiyya" translated by Sheikh Muhammad Sadik Muhammad Yusuf. [36] We do not agree with killing any of the Ummah of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, unless it is obligatory by Shari'ah to do so. We follow the Sunnah of the Prophet and the Jama'ah of the Muslims, and avoid deviation, differences and divisions.

The capability in terms of Tawfiq (Divine Grace and Favour) which makes an action certain to occur cannot be ascribed to a created being. This capability is integral with action, whereas the capability of an action in terms of having the necessary health, and ability, being in a position to act and having the necessary means, exists in a person before the action. It is this type of capability which is the object of the dictates of Shariah. Allah the Exalted says: 'Allah does not charge a person except according to his ability'. (al-Baqarah 2: 286) His sharh was printed in 1970 by Dar al-Fikr, edited by Muhammad Muti’ al-Hafiz and Muhammad Riyadh al-Malih. They used three good manuscripts, but don’t seem to have used them very well, resulting in the book containing a large number of errors. We read through this edition as well with Mufti Abdur Rahman and found many errors, with it even missing lines at places. We believe in Kiraman Katibin (the noble angels) who write down our actions for Allah has appointed them over us as two guardians. Everybody acts in accordance with what is destined for him and goes towards what he has been created for.

The learned men of the first community and those who followed in their footsteps - the people of virtue, the narrators of the Ahadith, the jurists and analysts- they must only be spoken about in the best way and anyone who says anything bad about them is not on the right path.We agree with doing the prayer behind any of the people of the qiblah whether right-acting or wrong-acting, and doing the funeral prayer over any of them when they die. We believe in the Preserved Tablet ( al-lawh al-maḥfuz), the Pen, and in everything inscribed on it. [62] Book of Faith represents the first complete English translation of the important and well-known work Kitab Al-Iman, written by the renowned scholar Ibn Taymiyyah. The concept of Iman, faith, is fundamental to Islam. Iman has served to define the nature of Muslim life and the essence of the religion as a whole. He guides whomever He wills. He protects them and secures them as grace. He leads astray whomever He wills. [21] He humiliates them and He puts them to trial in justice. [22] The basis of providence is that it is a secret of Allah Almighty in His creation. [56] It has not been shown to an angel near to Him, nor to a prophet He sent. Delving and investigating deeply into that is a cause of loss, a ladder to deprivation, and a degree of transgression. [57]
