About this deal

Thielert has offered engine conversions using their Centurion Engines. [4] This involves the installation of FADEC-controlled aviation diesel piston engines that run on commonly available jet fuel. Thielert claims increased power and improved fuel economy over other available conventional piston engines.

In 1973, an updated 414 was released with major changes, this model was named the 414II. The length of the cabin was increased by 16 inches (40.64 cm), an extra window was installed, electronic propeller synchrophasing was made standard, and various ARC 400-series avionics equipment was included. The C414 has been a studio staple for over 50 years because it is an exceptional microphone. While some of the variations may be slightly better suited to one application or another, they are all wonderful microphones that can help bring out the subtlety and character of your music. The qualities previously described also have much in common with the performance of the C414, but I don't think you should be looking at the C3000 as something you'd buy if what you really wanted in the first place was a 414 — it's really a quite different microphone. Indeed, it would demean the C3000 to write it off as a 'second best' C414 because it's a fine microphone in its own right. Conclusion The American Christian singer Keith Green and 11 other people were killed on July 28, 1982, in a Cessna 414 shortly after takeoff at the private Garden Valley Airport, near Garden Valley, Texas. The NTSB report indicates that the probable cause of the crash was a combination of the aircraft being overloaded (the occupants were four adults and eight children, while the aircraft has only seven seats) and pilot's failure to calculate weight and balance relative to the aircraft's design parameters. [7] The AKG C3000 has been heralded in some quarters as the affordable alternative to the AKG C414. Whether it sounds like a C414 remains to be seen, but there are several differences between the two mics other than the very obvious cosmetic ones. What might be fairer is to describe the C3000 as an affordable, high quality studio mic that has much in common with the C414, though without the same multi‑pattern switching and without quite such a high paper specification. The design of the Cessna 414 was to bridge the gap between their unpressurized twin, the Cessna 402, and their pressurized flagship, the Cessna 421. The new design used the same fuselage and tail as the 421 and the wing from the 402. Engines used were adaptations of the 300hp Continental TSIO-520s used on the 402. For the 414, the engines chosen were the 310hp TSIO-520-Js, with intercoolers and takeoffs for cabin bleed air pressurization. Switching to the cardioid pattern revealed very similar tonal characteristics, but I was slightly disappointed that the polar pattern doesn’t offer as much rearward discrimination as I expected. A deep 180–degree null could be found across the upper mid–range — between 300 and 800 Hz or so — but above and below that region the rearward attenuation falls again to 10–15dB. The C214 model actually performs a little better in its rearward rejection, in comparison, and the C414 XLS offers a much better-defined cardioid pattern. Unfortunately, at over 10 inches in length, the C12 was perfect in the recording studio, but not such a great choice on TV, where audio engineers were trying to keep the microphone from being the center of attention. In the ’60s, AKG launched the more svelte C12A, which featured the distinctive diamond-shaped silhouette that would mark this line for the next 60 years. Thielert AG (September 28, 2007). By doing this you will be capturing more surrounding noise. If you don’t have a properly sound-treated room to do recording, you shouldn’t opt for the C414. This is the reason dynamic mics are recommended for novices who don’t have sound-treated rooms. Apart from the capsule itself, the C314 has a more simplified control interface – turning to analogue switches rather than digital switching and LEDs with a condensed range of options . I n regard to the High Pass Filter and the PAD options available. With a simple –20dB pad and a 100Hz HPF, the C 314 has all of the attenuation and filtering that many users will need . The pressurized 414 was developed to appeal to owners of unpressurized, twin-engined aircraft, and was based on the fuselage of the Cessna 421 and used the wing design of the Cessna 401. The 414 is a low-wing cantilever monoplane with a conventional tail unit and a retractable tricycle landing gear. It is powered by two wing-mounted 310 hp Continental TSIO-520-J horizontally opposed, six-cylinder engines. The Chancellor has a maximum speed of 270 mph, a climb rate of 1,700 feet per minute, and a ceiling of 30,000 feet with a range 1,528 miles. A direct competitor of the 414A is the Beechcraft King Air. The Piper Seneca is also quite similar to the 414A, even though it is slightly smaller. Cessna Chancellor (414A) Clubs You can Join

Taylor, John W. R., ed. (1977). Jane's All the World's Aircraft 1977–78. London: Jane's Yearbooks. ISBN 0-354-00551-0. AKG C3000's distinctive side view.In comparison with other quality large diaphragm mics, the C3000 comes over as having its own character. While it's always difficult to put the sound of a mic into words, I'd say the C3000 is slightly on the 'pushy' side of neutral with an effective, forward presence and a slight sizzle which helps to create a lively, exciting vocal sound that projects well in a busy mix. It also has a slightly 'throaty' quality which helps create an intimate, 'in your face' effect without having to resort to sheer level to achieve the same result. The first Cessna Chancellor – the 414 – took to the skies in 1968, and was produced from 1970 onwards. It was developed to bridge the gap between the unpressurized Cessna 401 and the pressurized, more powerful Cessna 421. The 414 was meant to attract customers looking to upgrade from their unpressurized twin-engined aircraft and did so with limited success. Over its production run the number of 414s and 414As were evenly split, with 516 and 554 built, respectively. The 414 was built using parts from other 400-series aircraft. The fuselage and tail were essentially the same as the ones used on the 421B, while the wings were taken from the 401. Power was supplied by two horizontally opposed, six-cylinder, direct-drive, turbocharged, air-cooled, fuel-injected Continental TSIO-520-Js which produced 310 hp (228 kW). Introduced in 1978, the Cessna 414A or more commonly known as the Cessna Chancellor III, is a pressurized, twin-engined aircraft, with retractable landing gear. It’s the third model in the Chancellor line and the successor to the Cessna 414II.

There were significant changes made to the body of Chancellor 414A as well. The aircraft got heavier, with the MTOW and landing weight increasing by 400 lbs (181 kg) and 550 lbs (249 kg), respectively. To offset the reduction of performance because of the weight increase, the wing area was increased by 30 ft² (2.78 m²). RAM Altitude Performance Enhancing Winglets". Ramaircraft.com.
