About this deal

Jungle: Base coat is Deathworld Forest, camo elements are Caliban Green > Athonian Camoshadepin wash > Elysian Green > Ogryn Camo The decision to list these specific paints is based on the principle of colour theory and the concept of split-complementary colours, which are colours that are adjacent to the complementary colour on the colour wheel. These too are reproduced from my Primaris Marines scheme. It’s almost like I painted these first and carried over a lot of the techniques!

I’ll outline two techniques here – one for general red lenses, and one for green lenses whenever you have a lens appearing up against something red, such as the sergeant’s helmet. These will both usually be on eyes, but also any targeters, monocles, or what have you. I paint the eye the base color, then paint progressively brighter half moons towards the inside edge of the eye, then dot the outside, darker edge with a pure white. The only time I feel alive is when I'm painting. Vincent Van Gogh

Color Charts Emma: This paint has a lovely jade-like tone, which is really intense and vivid. I love using it over Stormhost Silver on gemstones or thinned down for a different take on crystal blades than the usual blue.Silver: Leadbelcher– Leadbelcher is a metallic silver paint that can be used to add a metallic touch to a miniature painted with Calgar Blue. The silver color can be used to highlight details such as weapons, ornaments and other metallic elements.

Other Colors: For the rest of the details I used my usual Vallejo Model Color Dark Rust for the leather, Vallejo Model Color Cavalry Brown for the aiguillette across the chest, Vallejo Model Color Buff for the parchment and Vallejo Model Color Magenta for the purity seal wax. Ultramarines – Like Lothern Blue, Calgar Blue is a great match for the blue armor of Ultramarines. However, it has a deeper, richer shade of blue that can create a more striking and vibrant look for the miniatures. This shade of blue is also a good match for the blue and white colour scheme of Ultramarines. At the same time, painting mercs sounds like fun, especially getting to experiment with lots of paint schemes, and having an identity for my ‘Mechs will be nice if I ever wind up playing folks other than Lark down the road. So I’m keeping things subtle with a small logo, and painting whatever the hell I feel like. The Long Nights mercenary companyThe Calgar Blue paint from Citadel Colour is a high-quality acrylic paint that is perfect for miniature painting. It’s a deep, rich blue color that can be used as a base coat to create a striking foundation for any miniature painting project. The paint’s matt finish and smooth consistency make it easy to work with and provide excellent coverage, making it a great choice for both beginners and experienced painters. It is a versatile colour that can be used on a variety of miniatures and is a must-have in any painter’s palette, for those looking for a shade of blue with a bit more depth than Lothern Blue. What armies to paint with Calgar Blue

See I did a bit of poking around and I found this tutorial. Im looking for this bright of blue. Although Im basic and probably would paint my Marines as 2nd Company or maybe even 1st Company. The hexadecimal color code #4272b8 is a shade of cyan-blue. In the RGB color model #4272b8 is comprised of 25.88% red, 44.71% green and 72.16% blue. In the HSL color space #4272b8 has a hue of 216° (degrees), 47% saturation and 49% lightness. This color has an approximate wavelength of 475.08 nm.

Contrast blues are some of the most saturated paints in the range, and Pylar Glacier exists to slot in between Aethermatic Blue and Talassar Blue . These are going to be the same as anybody else’s steps, including my own. Get transfers on these models (or in my case, freehand and moulded pauldrons) then varnish away! Metal models chip super easily, especially if you don’t have a really durable primer on them. You will invariably have a few of these Good Boi Awards on your Marines, and I like to give them a magenta hue to keep them distinct from red details. Sometimes I also use the Purity Seal Wax technique on weapon hilts if I’m feeling spicy. I keep the scrolls desaturated to help them stand out from any robes, and this technique also works well for any other scrollwork they may have.

Phoenix Hawk (PHX-3K, #10, white with grey and yellow accents), piloted by Franklin “Furter” StonewallThese factions are known in the Warhammer 40k universe for their blue armor and machinery, and Calgar Blue is a perfect match to paint these miniatures. This shade of blue is deeper and richer than Lothern Blue, which can create a more striking and vibrant look for the miniatures. Calgar Blue Colour Schemes & Combinations As the Thirteenth Legion of Space Marines, they were second only to the Luna Wolves in conquests during the Great Crusade and were the biggest Legion by far. They were notable for the mini-Imperium established by their Primarch, Roboute Guilliman, known as the 500 Worlds of Ultramar. Unlike most of the grimdark bullshit of 40K, Ultramar is actually a cool place to live by most standards, where people can live out relatively happy lives and enjoy some semblance of peace and prosperity. Guilliman did not see Space Marines as Eternal Warriors but instead believed that developing peace-time skills like statesmanship was just as important as warfare. The fluff often makes note of Space Marines’ superhuman minds and ability to process data far more efficiently than baseline humans, but Ultramarines are one of the only chapters that actually leverage this capability for something other than war. So that automatically makes them pretty cool.
