About this deal

Prices valid in stores (all including VAT) until close of business on 28th November 2023. (Some of these web prices are cheaper than in-store, so please mention that you've seen these offers online.) It can sound complicated but it's really not and it does work seamlessly. The 3600 also benefits because it is no longer driving the R300s and the that saved power is distributed to the remaining speakers connected to the 3600. The Dali is a pretty subwoofer, but I agree with Robbiey. Their stated frequency range is 28 Hz to 190 Hz +/- 3 dB. For music (except for pipe organs and synthesizers) it should do the job nicely. For HT, I'd be looking at subwoofers that will get you down to 20 Hz (and 25 Hz with excellent output). You have a medium size room (56 cu. meters or around 2,000 cu. ft) so at a minimum I'd be looking at the SVS PB-1000 (but if you have the funds, the PB-2000 would be an impressive improvement). Don't know where you call home, but SVS may be available to you. I have read that the Dali's tend to be bright so a warm recevier Marantz (6013/6014?)would be a a better fit, but dont know how the Maratnz would be compared to the 3600 (there is a good deal at the momnet on the 3600s). Would you recommend swapping out the recevier?

The Oberon 3s have a sound that I would describe as articulate, especially with human voices, with a mid-range that is a bit more tilted forward in sound compared to my Revel F26 towers. When toed in, the treble seemed a bit aggressive and taking the grilles off heightened the effect. I would recommend leaving the grilles on and doing as suggested by the manufacturer, set them up pointing straight out into the room. Though they sound bigger than their size suggests, they really don’t dig deep in the bass department. Having a sub helped fill in the bottom octave made them sound bolder and more authoritative. Here's a slightly curve ball suggestion: get an ifi Zen One Signature DAC and put it together with the amp of your choice. The Zen One is small, discreet, has a wide range inputs and sounds superb (well, I think so at least). If you want to try something less expensive, but extremely talented, I very much enjoyed the Quad S2. The ribbon tweeter brings almost holographic imaging, and it's a well balanced design all-round - much more so than the older 11L and 12L models (which were very competent).

XXLS400 wouldn`t be that big upgrade performance wise. Going from 12" sealed to another, though BK is still the better one. But as you have bigger budget i would look; With a stereo amp that has home threatre by-pass you connect the front pre-outs of the receiver, let's say for argument sake the 3600, into the direct RCA ports of a Rega Elicit-R. The Rega is now acting as a power amp for the 3600 and the front speakers are only connected to the Rega. However in HT by-pass the volume is controlled by the 3600 and the speakers are still EQ'd by Audyssey onboard the 3600. How would the Kef Q550/Q750 compare with the Dali 5 Oberons (assuming that I do have a sub). Would they be a better for the the 3600?

KEFs lend themselves very well as a replacement for a soundbar, as the wide and evenly dispersal of the sound from the point-source UniQ driver allows a larger sweet spot. Many conventional speakers will have quite a narrow sweet spot, so when you sit in the middle, you can move your head a few inches from side to side and the whole balance falls apart. KEF speakers hold it together over a wider area, ideal for more than one listener/viewer. Having discounted the KEF LS50s, I demoed the Dali Menuet SEs and the Sonus Faber Sonetto 1s through a Rega Brio + Bluesound Node combination.Really looking forward to comparing the Sonetto 1 vs the Rubicon 2, and to see how well the Menuet stands up against these bigger speakers. I’m sure the Rega Brio will be fine but as I said I won’t be able to test anything else in that mid size price range with this dealer. Shame because I know there are more powerful mid sized amps like the Cyrus One Cast available and there will always be that nagging doubt wondering if it would be more suitable for the bigger speakers?! The DALI SUB P-10 DSS was created with the intention of raising the bar for subwoofer enjoyment and performance in your dedicated home theatre. The DALI SUB P-10 DSS has been designed to work equally well with music and movies, in contrast to many other subwoofers on the market. With a dramatic output of 500W RMS, a trio of 3 x 10 inch long stroke woofers with strong carbon fibre cones, a dual spider, low loss suspension, and a large magnet system are housed in a beautifully designed, small enclosure. We have an Indian(?) member here who went from XXLS400 to SB2000 and then finally to PSA S1500. Each upgrade was a good step up. I can`t remember your name, but if you read this reply here. From what i remember some forum has measurements for XXLS400, it starts dropping around 25hz. And lowest notes are said to be "soft" in BK. Again not a fair fight as the prices are quite different and SVS has digital dsp amp (Class D) and BK more basic one (Class AB). Plus SVS has better driver.. But for the price BK is still great, beating many more expensive speaker manufacturers subs. For Harkons case i would like to see bigger jump in performance, so XXLS400 wouldn`t be my choice as guy has more money to spend also.

The DALI SUB E-9 F is recommended as a complement to the compact models of the OBERON, SPEKTOR, ZENSOR and FAZON series. On top of this it is compatible with all DALI loudspeakers as the perfect completion of a DALI stereo or surround set up. Hi great forum where I have learnt a lot and so far made a lot of my decisions. I now need some advise on my specific setup for my final decision, as it has become very specific so I hope you can help. To improve sound reproduction in general, and to ensure that this subwoofer is able to perform under difficult circumstances, a limiter has been incorporated in the amplifier section. Equipped with both LFE and line inputs, the Dali E9F allows for easy integration within your AV system and delivers both power and accuracy for a dynamic home cinema experience. If you absolutely have to have streaming functionality built in to the amp I'd suggest the following for audition:

Specifications:

I am starting from scratch, so would need a receiver as well and possibly a sub. Rght now these are on my list: The entire cabinet is effectively decoupled from the floor by means of four polymer based oversized spikes. Appearing to hover above the floor the distance of 30 mm eliminates any potential turbulence from the space between the cabinet and the floor itself. Still, the proximity to the floor ensures that the benefit of having a down-firing vent is maintained; a higher efficiency and more freedom in positioning. With its Class D digital amplifier built-in, the E9F produces an immense 170W. This low distortion amplifier provides the bass cone with a powerful, well-balanced sound for even the largest rooms. On the rear panel you'll find controls for volume, phase and frequency cut-off, plus the option of auto on/off. The new subwoofer from DALI features a 9” woofer, capable of moving lots of air with power and precision. The cone is made from pure aluminium for maximum stiffness and a becoming exterior. Furthermore, the heavy magnet system wields a massive 4-layer, long-stroke voice coil. Congrats on the Min's - they really are great for their size & a lifestyle speaker - the BMR drivers offer a wide dispersion unlike nearly all other drivers.
