Guinness Nigeria, a Nigerian-based subsidiary of Diageo Plc of the United Kingdom, was incorporated in 1962 with the building of a brewery in Ikeja. [1] The brewery was the first Guinness operation outside Ireland and Great Britain. Other breweries have been opened over time: Ogba brewery in 1963 and Benin City brewery in 1973. He also emphasised the Bank’s commitment to further growth including retail banking expansion and a continued focus on digitalization. Although not officially fully taken over, the Guinness family still owns 51 per cent of the brewery.
