About this deal

As always, I took my measurements at 30 seconds after turn on. The lowest modes didn’t quite meet specifications, but the fresnel lens proved its worth in the higher modes as I measured over 13,851 cd on turbo, pushing the throw 21 meters farther than spec! The cell goes into the light in the “usual way” (which is to say that the positive terminal of the cell goestoward the head). User-Friendly Operation: The SC32 HCRI features a convenient tail e-switch that enables easy access to different lighting modes and allows for seamless operation, making it intuitive and hassle-free to use. Type-C charging: With the built-in USB-C charging port, a 18650 cell can be charged inside your light using the included USB Type-A to USB-C cable, freeing you to enjoy your day and being able to charge practically anywhere. A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours using a 3300mAh or 3.3Ah 3.6V 18650 cell. For reference, here’s a baseline shot, with all the room lights off and almost nothing hitting the sensor. Also, here’s the light with the worst PWM I could find. I’m adding multiple timescales, so it’ll be easier to compare to the test light. Unfortunately, the PWM on this light is so bad that it doesn’t even work with my normal scale, which is 50 microseconds (50us). 10ms. 5ms. 2ms. 1ms. 0.5ms. 0.2ms.In a display faster than 0.2ms or so, the on/off cycle is more than one screen, so it’d just (very incorrectly) look like a flat line. I wrote more about this Ultrafire WF-602C flashlight and explained a little about PWM too. User Interface and Operation

ATR technology: ATR will adjust the brightness level automatically when the temperature of the light reaches 55℃ (122 °F) to prevent overheating. Releasing while ramping and then holding again within 1.5 seconds will change the direction of ramp. When ramp reaches the highest level, the light will blink once to indicate. It does not blink when reaching the lowest level. LED and Beam Super Bright: This LED flashlight is equipped with the SST-40, easily lighting up the path in front of you with significantly improved throw: it delivers a maximum output of 2000lm at a distance of up to 214 meters. Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) technology: ATR will adjust the brightness level automatically when the driver temperature reaches 55℃ (122 °F) to prevent overheating.Th e Sofirn SC31T retains the SC31 series single 18650 lithium-ion battery configuration. Sofirn could have gone with a 21700 cell to bring it into the 21st Century, but I like the 18650 form factor in this light since it keeps the size and weight down. If you want extra runtime, you can easily swap in a high capacity 18650 like a Sanyo GA or Samsung 35E and go on down the road.

Versatile Lighting Modes: The SC32 HCRI offers multiple lighting modes, including moonlight, low, medium, high, turbo and strobe, allowing you to choose the appropriate brightness level for different tasks or environments. I think this alignment of the switch LEDs is pretty normal… if you’re expecting them to be on… some… other axis, then this might not be the light for you. It’s not possible to measure amps on this light as it requires the body to be disconnected from the head to access the battery.

Runtime tests were conducted using the 30 cm integrating sphere with the Digi-Sense 20250-00 data logging lux meter calibrated using several lights of known output. I used the included fully charged 3000 mAh 18650 battery for each test and tested Turbo, High, and Medium modes. The Sofirn SP35 ATR flashlight is controlled by a single switch. It’s an e-switch on the side of the head. Sofirn is using a Luminus SST-40 emitter in the SC32. This emitter is coupled with a TIR, and offers a great beam profile. Much like the switch cover, this TIR has a ripple effect. Unfortunately, it is important to note that the Sofirn SC32 underperforms by about 25% all around. In reality, the visual difference between 1500 and 2000 lumens is hard to discern, but what’s advertised and how it actually does are different things.

Surprisingly, the bezel is not glued down. Not only that but the threads are lubed. Usually manufacturers don’t want you getting into the bezel, but on the SC32 it’s wide open, meaning emitter swaps will be a breeze.

The bezel is very toothy, and I suppose is what lends the “tactical” side of things to the name. Otherwise, I am not inclined to consider this light a tactical light. During use, the indicator near the charging port (which you can see below) gives a brief indication of the approximate cell voltage. Charging The SOFIRN SC32 HCRI is the high CRI version of SC32. It is a versatile and high-performance flashlight designed for everyday carry, outdoor adventures, and professional use. It features a hight CRI Nichia 519A LED with high color rendering, making it perfect for tasks requiring accurate color recognition. The flashlight is equipped with a reliable USB-C rechargeable system, eliminating the need for disposable batteries. With its maximum 1300 lumens output, it provides bright illumination for various scenarios. SOFIRN SC32 HCRI offers superior color rendering, long-lasting performance, and exceptional usability.
