About this deal

It's a very flexible speaker and by far the best if you want to setup a Sonos surround system. You can also access the Sonos app to support AirPlay 2, Bluetooth 5.0, line-in, Hi-Res and (of course) Dolby Atmos. So, if you're after a high-quality wireless speaker then look no further. If the Soundbox looks simple from the outside, though, there’s plenty going on under the hood. The Soundbox has Bluetooth support so you can play tunes directly through it from your smartphone (there’s no Wi-Fi or multi-room audio support, though), and Sky has implemented a whole bunch of clever automated sound processing techniques as well. While the speaker drivers remain the same, the Qualcomm chipset that powers the speaker has been upgraded (the speaker uses Bluetooth 5.1), bumping the sound quality a tad, particularly at higher volumes, with better digital signal processing. It remains one of the best-sounding mini Bluetooth speakers, with richer, more tonally balanced sound than other Bluetooth speakers its size -- and it should sound good, considering its elevated price. Despite social distancing and other restrictions, the speaker was a hit for most who saw it. Because it’s loud, it already attracts attention, and if you can avoid annoying people from the start, you might be able to attract a crowd and meet new people. What really made the difference was using the Bass+ and Power settings. The rumbling bass felt like being in a club or concert in closer proximity, and was the part that really carried the sound further distances.

A computer multimedia speaker is a kind of output device that generally delivers the sound of hardware fault reports and is also used in the world of entertainment such as movies, games, etc. Computer speakers range extensively in a variety of portable USB speakers, wireless Bluetooth speakers, mini speakers, multimedia 2.1 Speaker, 5.1 gaming and movie speakers, surround sub-woofer speakers, stereo speakers, home theaters, etc. Speaker or sound system is also known as a soundbox in Bangladesh. Best Popular speaker brands in Bangladesh As you'd expect, Bluetooth speakers are wireless in that they don't require a wire to connect to an audio source; they use a Bluetooth codec. However, they don't necessarily also support wi-fi, which is a necessary feature of what we term 'wireless speakers'. A wireless speaker can connect to an audio source via the internet (i.e. wi-fi) – by way of Apple AirPlay or Google Chromecast, for example – whether or not it also has Bluetooth. It's at the pricey end of the market, yes, but the Dali Katch is a stone-cold stunner, delivering excellent clarity, impressive bass weight and good looks in spades – so much so that we've handed it a What Hi-Fi? Award in 2021, 2022 and 2023. If you've got the money, we'd struggle to recommend anything else at the same price.

Sky's Soundbox isn't perfect, but it delivers great sound quality for a speaker this small and cheap

The Katch oozes a sort of continental class, finished to the highest quality and with a luxurious aesthetic that really can rival some of the best dedicated domestic speakers in the style stakes. When we took our Katch G2 home for some hands-on pics, we found it to be akin to a great model or a timeless beauty of the age; stunning from every angle. Aside from the discounted price, there are other benefits to being a Sky Q customer where the Soundbox is concerned. Press the ‘?’ key on the Sky remote and you'll be greeted by Soundbox-specific audio settings. Audio is really strong, too: bigger, punchier and louder than you’d expect from such a small box. Play Juiceby Lizzo and the Micro 2 does justice to the song’s upbeat tempo with the singer's vocals vibrantly portrayed. Midrange in particular is dealt with in a much more appealing manner than anything else we’ve seen at this price.

Besides the sound quality of a Bluetooth speaker, which we test with every genre of music from classical to pop, we also scrutinise other aspects of its design, including battery life, the robustness of its Bluetooth connection, how easy it is to use and set up, and finally how well built it is. Our review philosophy doesn't change whether we're evaluating a basic, budget Bluetooth speaker or a more premium model. If all you want from a decent outdoor speaker is portability and affordability, you really couldn't do much better than the excellent Tribit Stormbox Micro 2. A tiny, satchel-friendly Bluetooth speaker, this is easily one of the best we’ve tested at this meagre price point. We all love the complete theatre sound experience. There’s something about the floor-to-ceiling screen and the surround sound that takes the entire movie watching experience to the next level. If you are planning to build a home theatre, then you need effective home audio speakers to enhance your music experience. Sound, of course, should play a huge part in your decision, because there's absolutely no guarantee that two models of a similar price will end up sounding the same in terms of quality, audio presentation and general timbre. Some Bluetooth speakers will be peppy and exciting, while others will prioritise pulsating bass to get the party started. It boasts similar dimensions to a large floury bap, but that's where any comparisons with baked goods end. The new A1 supports Qualcomm’s latest aptX AdaptiveBluetooth 5.1 codec, and of course, Alexa is built-in.All products are judged on a performance-per-pound basis and, as part of the process, put up against the current class leader(s) at that price point to see how they compare and to help us settle on a star rating. Everything sounds immersive, and that’s the description Sky uses as well, but the Soundbox doesn’t support Dolby Atmos. This would be fine if Sky hadn’t done a song and dance about supporting Atmos through the Sky Q service, making it a strange omission. That said, the technology isn’t available to Sky+ customers who won’t feel its absence. Final verdict We test countless wireless speakers every year at TechRadar, and that means we know exactly which features and specs to look out for – and we know that the best ones can sound just as good as a traditional stereo speaker system if you treat them right.

When choosing a Bluetooth speaker, the first thing you should ask yourself after setting a budget is what you want from it. Does the speaker need to be portable and versatile enough to use both indoors and outdoors? Or are you happy with a mains-powered speaker that can fill a big room with brilliant audio? If you're wondering about the original Apple HomePod, you can still buy it and Apple still supports it, but it has been discontinued. A new model is rumoured for a 2023 launch. However, if you don’t have an Apple Music subscription, you’re rather limited when it comes to music streaming. You can't ask the HomePod mini to play anything through Spotify – that can only be enabled through AirPlay, and requires using your phone rather than the simpler method of asking Siri to play tunes with your voice. If there’s a single reason to buy the HomePod mini, it’s the sound quality, which delivered clear treble and smooth mids during our tests. If you want more from the midrange and less from the treble, you can now tweak it thanks to a new EQ feature in the app, which adds significant value. For a nominal price hike over the launch price of the Flip 5, there’s certainly more detail here, too.

The Sonos Five will look very familiar to anyone who knows their way around Sonos' 2015 Play:5 Gen. 2, which you can find lower down in this buying guide (or even the 2009 inaugural Sonos Play:5, originally called the S5). Considering the brilliance of Sonos' innovative, long-standing and highly popular multi-room speaker lineup, that's no bad thing.
