About this deal

A sublime mix of romance, intrigue and myth, A RIVER ENCHANTED is a stunning addition to the canon of Celtic-inspired fantasy. With its lyrical prose and tight world building, this story is both modern and timeless, drawing from the traditions of genre greats like Steven Lawhead and marrying them to the sensibilities of modern works like Genevieve Gornichec's THE WITCH'S HEART and Tana French's IN THE WOODS' Book Genre: Adult, Adult Fiction, Fantasy, Fantasy Romance, Fiction, High Fantasy, Magic, Romance, Science Fiction Fantasy, Young Adult

In the stunning conclusion to the Elements of Cadence duology, A Fire Endless finds the delicate balance between the human and faerie realm threatened by Bane, the spirit of the North Wind, whose defeat can only come through fire, song, and heart-rending sacrifice. Sidra remained at Hamish’s side. She wasn’t sure what had afflicted the boy. What had possibly crept beneath his skin and stained his blood, weighing him down in the water, causing him to drown. I think i just found my new favorite, comfort book 🫶🏻 this book deserves all the love and the stars ✨ it’s so tender and gentle it’s so gorgeous and beautiful i could cry for how beautiful the book really is. This series took me to another magical, wonderful world. It provided me with a place to escape my responsibility and my reality and it was the best thing ever. I was so lost and found in this book. The plot and the characters and the feelings this book made me feel are unforgettable.💖 At once a fast-paced mystery and a love story as warm as a hearth . . . This is a classic in the making." — Ava Reid, internationally bestselling author of The Wolf and the Woodsman, on A River EnchantedWhatever A River Enchanted had, A Fire Endless has that only its MORE. It is more romantic, more adventurous, more heartfelt and has a plot that just expands deeper with each chapter. I wont go into details because this is a second book and I think you know by now how much I love it. In the west, Adaira struggles to find her place. And, though magic blooms there, the spirits suffer beneath Bane's harsh power, felt in every gust of wind. I don't know what it's like to have a missing child, but I do know what it's like to be part of a community impacted by a child's disappearance, neglect, or death. I know what it's like to have sympathy for those affected. I know it's not a time to party.

I fell in love this with this enchanting world and the amazing characters even more in this book. The pacing was perfect and the plot engaged me the entire book. There were several plot twists that I didn't expect that had me at the edge of my seat. I loved learning more about this unique world inspired by Scottish folklore. I enjoyed learning more about the elemental faeries (earth, wind, fire and water) and their past. The stories of the past flowed seamlessly through the lyrical and descriptive writing. The fall vibes in this book was immaculate and made me want to snuggle up in a cozy blanket. The ending was so beautiful and heartbreaking. I was so happy that the characters had the ending that they deserved. I honestly cried both happy and sad tears. This book has my whole heart. Like, I can't even tell you anything that is objectively wrong here, at all. Not very much of a useful review, in terms of y'all being like okay that is a helpful piece of information! More useful probably is that the consensus on this book is that it is a good ending to the duology. Many people whose opinions I trust on Goodreads have said it was bettera than A River Enchanted! This duology was so cozy and atmospheric. I really loved the enchanting world that Rebecca Ross painted for us throughout these two books. There is magic and romance. Family bonds that are put to the test and deep-rooted ideas from rival clans that are challenged. The cast of characters are all layered and engaging and have you emotionally invested from the beginning. There were a few storylines that felt underdeveloped as well as the conclusion, as a reader I wished I had more closure with some plot lines and some more answers, but I still really enjoyed this series overall.

Summary

She was home with Torin. She may have been in the west, with sunlight streaming in through the window, but she was home in his arms. She had never felt safer, or more deeply known and loved as he whispered her name.” if you did not like the first book you probably wouldn’t like this one but i can admit it was a lot better!! If I am weak for wanting you, then let me embrace that weakness and make it my strength, and if you must haunt me, then let me haunt you in return." Sand had gathered under her nails and between her fingers. She could feel it coating her teeth. “I’ll wait here with him.”

torin & sidra are literally my parents. although i forgot to tab some of my fav moments btwn them they are to die for. the way torin is willing to do anything for sidra and protect her at all costs 🥹🥹I received an advance copy of this novel from the publisher, Harper Voyager, via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I really loved this series; it was a solid four-star duology throughout and that is really great! The only thing I would say is that some things felt very underdeveloped to me and left me a tiny bit disappointed. Moray's storyline felt like a plot device and a missed opportunity, we never really got to see his motivations for wanting to find Adaira. I was expecting more answers there. The ending also felt really anti-climactic, and I think an epilogue could have really helped tie up all the loose ends that were left hanging bc the ending felt really abrupt to me and left me with so many questions. With lush worldbuilding and lyrical prose, A River Enchanted feels like the echo of a folktale from a world right next to our own.” — Hannah Whitten, New York Times bestselling author of For the Wolf
