About this deal

You don't have to use dark chocolate melts on the top of your bombs. You can use colored melts if you prefer. Place the bowl with the chocolate over the boiling water and carefully whisk the chocolate until melted. Continue heating and whisking until an inserted candy thermometer reaches 90ºF. Remove the chocolate from the heat and turn off the stove.

De-mould the spheres and fill each half with some Baileys chocolate ganache and mini marshmallows, then using some extra dark chocolate, put two halves together and place in the fridge until solid. That’s your Baileys hot chocolate bombs put together! Milk Chocolate: Contains a combination of cocoa solids, milk solids, and sugar, giving it a sweeter and creamier taste; Bailey’s Irish Cream: Perfect for boozy bombs! The sweet and vanilla-like taste of Irish cream liqueur pairs so well with chocolate! If you’re vegan or dairy-free, Baileys has a dairy-free almond based version too. Place the sphere with the melted edges on top of the ganache-filled sphere, and allow the chocolate to set. Repeat until you have six hot cocoa bombs. Place molds in the fridge for 10 minutes. Pop the boozy chocolate bombs out of the silicone mold and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Say hello to the hot chocolate bombe - a super-delicious chocolate ball filled with mini marshmallows. Place a hot choc bombe into a mug and pour over steaming milk for an explosion of fabulousness! Drinking chocolate doesn't get any easier or tastier than this. Hot chocolate bombes are available to buy in a variety of flavours and make great gifts any time of the year. They are super popular at Christmas and often sell out well in advance of the big day.Use a frying pan. Heat the frying pan and remove it from heat. Carefully melt the rim of the sphere and immediately attach it to one of the bottom halves. Measure 1 Tablespoon of the mocha hot cocoa mix into half of the chocolate spheres. Add a Bailey’s truffle to the center of the sphere and then surround with a few mini marshmallows, if desired.

Hot Plate Method: Boil a large pot of hot water and add a small plate to it. The plate will hold the heat without the risk of burning yourself. Be sure to dry the plate fully before using it, as water seizes chocolate. Candy melts can be used (and don’t require tempering – just melting) but they will change the flavor of the hot chocolate bomb. My daughter and her friends loved the flavor of our pink hot chocolate bombs made with pink candy melts, so it really comes down to personal taste preferences. Remove the Bailey’s Ganache from the fridge and use a cookie scoop to portion into 1 1/2″ sized balls. Use the magic ratio, then adjust as needed. The ratio we like is 1 cup hot chocolate to 1 ounce Baileys. Of course, you can always add more! These Baileys hot chocolate bombs are made in a couple of different steps, the spheres and the ganache to fill the spheres. Let’s see both processes together now.Top with whipped cream! It’s great as is, but it always is better with a little homemade whipped cream (reminiscent of an Irish coffee). Quality Matters: The health benefits are most prominent in high-quality dark chocolate with a high cocoa content. Cheaper and highly processed chocolate may not offer the same advantages.
