For this event you have the freedom to choose any location and car class you wish, this event does not have a lap count but you have to set it at the maximum grid of 22 competitors or it won’t count. Once Codemasters release an official list, we will update this article. GRID Legends looks to fall into the sim-cade style of racing game, combining sim racing elements with slightly more accessible arcade-like physics.

There is a huge caveat, and that is that Codemasters hasn’t confirmed that any wheel will be compatible. Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands) may take longer to reach you. While we know GRID Legends will have support for racing wheels, we don’t know which racing wheels will be supported, and if any aren’t. What we can do though is look at the previous GRID game to see which racing wheels were supported. This will give us a good indication of which racing wheels will be compatible with GRID Legends.

So why Codemasters have returned to crowbarring a narrative into their technically impressive arcade racing simulations is either a vain attempt to attract non purists to the genre or perhaps the developers are trying to the stem the boredom of churning out another update by delving into low-rent drama. Fanatec compatibility for GRID Legends is pretty wide but does depend on the console or platform you are racing on. More info Available platforms It'd be a serious stretch to describe the EA Sportsified Grid Legends as the FIFA of motorsport games, not least because it gives officially licensed championships a wide berth, but the game takes a similarly maximalist approach to racing. Its healthy selection of cars is cannily distributed across a multitude of classes and disciplines, ensuring there's almost always at least a couple of evenly matched but independently characterful vehicles to pit against each other. There's significant duplication from 2019's series reboot, but the few additions are at least wilder and more specialised than that game's slightly more conservative platter. Upgrades in Career mode are split between Mechanic and Teammate types, and can be bought to, say, reduce the cost of new cars, or improve your teammate's performance. You can even, in a grimly amusing demonstration of capitalistic game design, pay to reduce his share of the race winnings. Am… am I the baddie?

It’s here, however, that you’ll find the most variety in the game, and it's likely the mode that car enthusiasts will spend the most time with. In addition, the game lets you set up custom races with a reasonable degree of accessibility; full cross-play is available with GRID Legends, so if you’re up for some online play, the player population should be pretty healthy for a good while.
