Ty Templeton’s cover for Batman: The Adventures Continue – Season Three #8 is a clear homage to the cover of 1992’s The Batman Adventures #1, also drawn by Templeton. Archived from the original on July 19, 2020 . Retrieved October 20, 2020.This really does feel like a continuation of Batman: The Animated Series thanks in no small part to Paul Dini and Alan Burnett, who were both integral to the show. There are a few ongoing story-lines as well as a couple of stand-alones, so it works nicely. When I saw Ty’s first models , they were very much like the original models on the series that Bruce Timm did,” he shares. “Bruce would always draw his models in action poses, and he would draw a character in motion first before he did the stiff turnaround. That is what Ty did for the new characters, such as Red Hood.” Polo, Susana (April 1, 2020). "DC's new Batman: The Animated Series Book is a Must-read for Fans of the Show". Polygon . The Hunter or the Hunted" (Issue 3): Batgirl and Huntress both look for Jimmy "The Jazzman" Peake (who severely injured Commissioner James Gordon in the BTAS episode "I Am the Night"). Archived from the original on October 20, 2020 . Retrieved October 20, 2020. This starts off with a very enjoyable Court of Owls/Deadman story drawn by one of my favourite artists Ty Templeton and the rest of the stories are fun as well though - perhaps - less memorable. Paul Dini is a co-writer and he always produces solid stories. Alan Burnett as well is a co-writer on many stories and does a fabulous job. I think the general idea behind these comics is "what if we had some of the more modern Batman characters in the animated series?" and it does a good job at that but it is still a little weird to see the darker villains (Court of Owls) invade the animated Universe.Templeton was just as excited to be working on the comics as he was to be working on the action figures. It has some original stories but the main story retells the Red Hood but with a more PG feel. It is a very different take on the tale but the basics are still there and that brought down my enjoyment a bit. It didn't have that wow factor because I knew the basic outcome of the story. DC Comics digital-first series available in both digital and print editions; Season One, Two and Three complete and on sale Batman: The Adventures Continue – Season Three #8, the title’s final issue, is available in print and digital starting Oct. 3, 2023. Stay tuned for further updates and coverage on right here at The World’s Finest! The only thing that really lets the volume down is the final issue, an extra-sized Christmas special that does the same thing with Arnold Wesker that's been done so many times before (complete with gruesome Scarface murder). It doesn't really feel necessary, nor does it add anything to canon that we haven't already seen.
