The content of the bag should be mixed before sweeping the material into the joints otherwise the binders will not be mixed with the silica sand. Maybe some of your joints have hardened and some of them have not? If so, the binders have probably not been mixed with the silica sand. we are sorry to learn that you had a bad experience using DANSAND® NO GROW™. As we understand, you applied NO GROW in 2021. However, you do not specify which exact NO GROW product you were using. In the below answer, we will be assuming that you have used DANSAND® NO GROW™ Joint Filling Sand. Try to save any left over sand for future use in areas of paving you may have missed or is lost due to wind and rain.

We recommend a joint height of min. 4 cm when filling your joints to ensure that the roots of the seed do not have enough time to find nourishment, as it will dry out before then. Sweep the filling materials into the joints using a soft broom. Sweep in a diagonal pattern until the joints are filled to the top. If you use the filling material for coloured, porous pavings, it may settle in small depressions in the stones, leading to discolouring. The NO GROW mixture consists of washed and dried silica sand as well as nutrient-poor minerals with a high pH value. The high pH value causes weed seeds to dry out so that they cannot take root and germinate – in a completely natural way. The minerals dissolve slowly and can only be washed out after 10 years of rain. With the correct use of DANSAND ® joint filling sand, you get a great result that lasts for many years.
