About this deal

I have combination, acne- and redness-prone skin that's very sensitive — it's a real trip shopping for skincare products that won't irritate it even more. Some drugs may have Authority Required (Streamlined) status which does not require an explicit approval from Medicare, instead the doctor can use the Authority code found in the published Schedule for a given drug/indication. The moisturizer is also oil-free, fragrance-free, and sensitive-skin-friendly. So it’s great for a range of skin types. Paris has combination skin and uses the tinted version of this moisturizer every day. But it wowed us when we tested it on dry skin, too. The moisturizer is also one of the most versatile on our list. In addition to being great for different skin types (including dry, oily, and combination skin), it’s fragrance-free and sensitive-skin-friendly. And at a budget-friendly price, we think it’s a steal.

Though the moisturizer is made for acne-prone skin, it’s also great for oily and combination skin. We also love that it’s fragrance-free and appreciate the budget-friendly price. to 4.7 stars: These face moisturizers are excellent—they might have minor flaws, but we still recommend them. and below: We don't recommend ceramide moisturizers with this rating; you won't find any on our list. I was immediately sold when I saw all the benefits: hydrating ingredients, no synthetic fragrances or parabens, and suitable for sensitive skin. We've all been told to look out for certain ingredients in a moisturizer — like niacinamide, ceramides, and hyaluronic acid. Because these are such powerhouses that hydrate, strengthen, and repair skin, some moisturizers containing these ingredients can get crazy expensive, and worse, they can also contain irritating ingredients like synthetic fragrance.

We tested 64 face moisturizers for dry and oily skin. But some lost points in one or more key categories, so they didn’t earn a spot among our favorites. These five didn’t make the final cut, but there were things we liked about them: We can’t deny that its current price is a lot to spend on a 1.6-ounce moisturizer. But if you’ve struggled to find something that balances out your combination skin, this moisturizer may be worth the splurge. Ceramides are lipids that are naturally found in the skin and used synthetically in skin care products like cleansers, serums, and moisturizers. These lipids account for roughly half of the outermost layer of skin called the epidermis or stratum corneum.

The four most common skin types are normal, dry, oily, and combination. Normal skin feels balanced, dry skin can get tight and flaky, oily skin can get greasy and shiny, and combination skin often gets oily in the T-zone (along the forehead and nose). Finding the right moisturizer for your skin type and lifestyle may take some trial and error, says dermatologist Gloria Lin, MD-FAAD. But the dermatologists we spoke to generally recommend heavier creams for dry skin, oil-free moisturizers for oily skin, and combination products for combination skin. The details: This brand-new Double Repair option is formulated to provide all-day hydration without the shine and helps to repair the skin barrier after one hour. The addition of silica and perlite help control excess oil, keep skin shine-free all day and minimize the appearance of pores. It will leave all skin tones with even the most sensitive skin feeling refreshed with a matte finish. La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer La Roche-Posay Prebiotic Thermal Water: Sourced from France, this naturally mineral-rich water has a high concentration of selenium, which is a potent antioxidant. Soothe and comfort your skin every day with La Roche-Posay's Double Repair Face Moisturizer. Suitable for sensitive skin types, this facial moisturizer is powered by prebiotic thermal water that helps diminish dryness and free radical damage for a more youthful, healthier-looking complexion. Key Ingredients: Ceramide-3: an essential ceramide naturally found in skin. Prebiotic Thermal Water: with hydrating, soothing and antioxidant properties. Glycerin: a moisturizing agent that naturally attracts water to skin. Niacinamide: a form of vitamin B3 with soothing properties. ingredients Though they have chemical differences, they all offer similar benefits to the skin, Dr. Klein says. Among these three, one isn’t necessarily better than the others.

Before using a ceramide moisturizer, make sure your skin is clean and treated with any toners or serums you choose to use. You can use a ceramide moisturizer as needed, which is about twice per day for most people, Dr. Oliver says. I have combination sensitive skin, which means that it’s dry in some parts, oily in others, and at times can react to skincare products if they are too strong or have a lot of fragrance. I take my skincare routine pretty seriously, so I am always focusing on anti-aging, hydration, and texture to name a few. I use 2-3 products in the morning and night, and I’m never found without sunscreen. Some brands of skincare that I consistently use are Skinceuticals, Biologique Recherche, and Alastin. How To Apply: Pat and massage onto face Because the moisturizer is so rich, we wouldn’t recommend it for oily skin. But it’s great for other skin types, like dry and combination skin. The 1.68-ounce moisturizer feels a little bit expensive. But since it does the work of three products, it’s easy to justify the buy. Ultimately, ceramides keep external invaders away while keeping moisture sealed in to encourage skin that looks and feels healthy and soft.

According to Fenty, you should reapply this moisturizer every two hours for optimal results and sun protection—just like regular sunscreen. We love how hydrating the moisturizer felt the first time we applied it, and we think it’s a great option for everyday use, especially if you like exercising outdoors. To test each moisturizer’s spreadability, we used a spatula to spread each cream or lotion on a plastic tray. We then used a makeup sponge to try to absorb the moisturizer from the tray, noting how long it took for the moisturizer to fully absorb. Great for sensitive skin, innisfree’s Green Tea Seed Hyaluronic Acid Cream is made without parabens, sulfates, or synthetic colors. And it contains less than 1 percent of synthetic fragrance. It’s also an effective moisturizer, leaving our skin looking dewy and feeling hydrated shortly after we put it on. Embryolisse’s Lait-Crème Concentré doesn’t just hydrate your skin—it also smooths and soothes it. And 15 minutes after using it, we saw a dramatic difference in skin tone and texture. As Galaria noted, oil-free moisturizers are great for oily skin—and Tatcha’s The Water Cream is no exception. But the lightweight moisturizer takes things a step further: One of its key ingredients, leopard lily, actually reduces the amount of oil in your skin.Read more: This startup helps you replace your skincare routine with clean beauty products using a simple quiz — I tried everything it recommended La Roche-Posay’s Toleriane range of cleansers and moisturizers was created with all types of sensitive skin in mind. Since its debut, the original Double Repair moisturizer for dry skin has been a customer favorite, so it only made sense a version with sun protection would follow. Now, La Roche-Posay is proud to announced that Toleriane Double Repair Matte Moisturizer for oily and combination skin has joined the family. Meet the powerhouse ingredients

SkinCeuticals’ Daily Moisture is one of the priciest moisturizers we tested. But we think it’s worth every penny. The moisturizer contains hyaluronic acid, algae extract, panthenol, vitamin E, and witch hazel. So it does a lot at once, simultaneously hydrating, toning, and exfoliating your skin.

Warnings

My current routine involves a cleanser and brightening vitamin C serum in the mornings, and a cleanser and a combo of alpha and beta hydroxy acids to target any acne and dead skin at night. I needed a moisturizer that would target dryness, make my skin feel bouncy instead of tight, and ultimately, not cause pimples or more redness — all without breaking the bank.
