About this deal

Overall, “Purity” is a great read for anyone looking for a steamy romance with a meaningful message. How to read online Purity by Skyler Mason? The characters are well-developed and their journey to recovery is portrayed in a sensitive way. The book ends on a hopeful note that feels realistic. I know this will be a popular book when it releases (Sept 30) due to the tab00 element, but the story is deeper than that and can resonate to those who grew up in any sort of organized religion. Plus, who doesn't like a tattooed preacher demanding you call him "Daddy?" These two obviously have a lot of trauma but in different forms. Neither expect that they’d catch feelings, they both just wanted to get one thing out of this situation. This book just like book one does an excellent job of depicting the purity culture, and how it affects someone mentally as well as physically. It obviously has the spice, some praise kink. Livy has been in love with her best friend Cole for years, but he’s never looked at her that way. So, she decides to ask him to take her V-card with no strings attached.

Skyler Mason has written a story that shows just how your upbringing and parents influence can effect your life. It pisses me off that after he told her that, she was only thinking like "oh, I'm sure I'm going to make him change his mind and want to be with me". And it still was in many ways! The sexy times are top notch. Any time a man tells me “forgive me god” before banging the absolute shit out of their partner, I’m in. I also loved the family dynamics at play in both Brandon’s psyche and in Mariana’s world, and Mariana’s journey to be her full self around her family. And god help me if I didn’t GASP OUT LOUD at THAT MOMENT where Sofia shows up (you’ll see). Look-a-here, look-a-here now. We have a little Daddy Sch-m¡nk and pra!s3, A dash of br33-ding. A smidgen of d3gr-d-t¡on, a former player turned pastor who is 38, 14 years older than she is. We have the makings of a delicious story. A recipe for “Lü-st,” if you will. Ok. I’ll stop. “Lü-st” is my first Skyler Mason book, and I am giddy about it.

See a Problem?

It’s time to move on and start living my life. This summer, I’m going to ask him to take my V-card with no strings attached.

while i don’t really have issues with these characters existing, i think the redemption arcs of all of the characters that took complete advantage of mari’s grace were rushed. it didn’t sit right with me that people who treated her without respect (honestly brandon included) were able to finish this story having done the bare minimum to deserve a place in mari’s life. to me, there was not enough action for them to deserve that level of forgiveness, and it sort of felt conflicting with the growth of mari discovering that she is enough as she is. i rarely advocate for longer books, but in this case i would have liked to see a bit more balance between the poor treatment and actions seeking forgiveness. But when I tell Cole my request, his reaction is not what I expect. He’s furious and over-the-top protective. He won’t touch me, but apparently, no one else can either. It doesn’t make any sense. A big thank you to @authorskymason for the ARC. I've been patiently waiting for Pastor Brandon and Mariana's story, and it did not disappoint. this book was pretttttyyy hot ngl. pastor brandon really had two different modes: *daddy* and daddy issues. i definitely preferred one over the other.it’s a young adult, so be warned. The characters are 20 and in college, so if this is not your thing you may find it boring. Also, the way everyone gets involved and acts like she's so innocent and they have to treat her like she's glass - ewwww The one thing this book has going for it is that it’s NOT a “she was a bet!” plot (even though, confusingly, it seems like it’s setting that up). From the start, the heroine is aware of the bet. So, there’s no angst or tension about “when will she find out?!” But….there’s also not much angst or stakes about anything! Early in the story, they mutually agree that he’ll be her choice to sleep with. So, the entire flow of the story is odd– no tension, and not much plot. Just the characters awkwardly orbiting around each other, after they’ve agreed that they’ll have sex. There is some alright dirty talk, but it feels sudden and random, like this story threw it in Just Because. The side characters.... I wasn't a fan of most of them in this book. Because most of them were Mari's family and I'm irritated with them and think Mari should have said "f" you all and left. Lets just say that. I won't say more because I don't want to spoil it.
