About this deal

Lilly’s brother, Michael would make a lovely boyfriend if only he would see Mia as someone more than just his kid sister’s best friend. I thought this book was an adult novel, but I'm not sure. The character of Mia is so immature that I wondered if she had ever grown from her introduction to this series. When I looked this up to see how long this series had been running, I was amazed to see that the very first book was for kids 11 years old and up...it sure has changed since Mia is married. However, she still acts very immaturely, and I can't suspend my disbelief enough to envision her running a country. I'm glad this book came out now. If it had come out earlier, it would have been too soon. But now, as there are still COVID cases, and still people acting like idiots, but you're almost starting to forget how bad and weird it was, this is the perfect time. And what she, and Michael, and Lilly say to a certain person at the end was truly cathartic.

Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret” in Shelf Discovery: The Teen Classics We Never Stopped Reading (July 2009) Most of her sisters were married or were planning to have a family, meaning they wanted to have more children. But most of them didn’t have enough money, like Mellana, who was somewhat dim-witted. She begged Finnula to hold ransom on a guy. Finnula, the ever reliable and compassionate sister, soon captured a guy named Hugo Fitzstephen and held him ransom. But instead of holding him captive, she started to fall in love with him. Which was bad because that wasn’t supposed to happen. How far we've come: I'm in my 30s now and can't be bothered to be sheepish about whatever I choose to read (and anyway...e-readers for the win). But some things haven't changed, and I knew the second I saw this book that I'd be reading it as soon as humanly possible. How could I not? One must keep up with the world news, after all, and that includes the goings-on in Genovia.Fun Fact: Finnula has a dog with the name 'Gros Louis' which is French for 'Fat Louie' (Princess Mia's cat). e) She has just been proposed to by aforementioned Geek God/ Alpha Male/ Uncrowned Prince of Evolved Men, Michael Moscovitz. Life is already a bit of a strain and when her dad tells her he's the crown prince of Genovia and, since his testicular cancer has left him unable to have more children, Mia is now the heir to the throne, it becomes even more unbearable. The first thing I loved was how, after all these years, Mia is still the same girl we know, except older. She's still funny, quirky, nerdy and lovable, which made me feel lik The series is set primarily in the Manhattan borough of New York City. Some books take place in Genovia, a fictional European country. Genovia is a principality between France and Italy ruled by Mia's father, Prince Philippe Renaldi, and by Mia's grandmother, Dowager Princess Clarisse Renaldi.

Helen Thermopolis: Mia's mother. She has a career as an artist and spends most of her time in her studio. So you can imagine my excitement when I heard that Meg was releasing a new one, I think I actually squealed and started going “ Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God” non stop. hahaha I pretty much devoured this one. Written in a diary style, it includes written diary entries in Mia's narrative style. There's also snippets from newspapers, Internet articles and my favourite one of all text messages. So many funny bits, I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Not only does Meg Cabot get into the heart and soul of her main character, but she also gives sunny personalities to the secondary characters. Mia's two best friends have been there from the beginning and I love how different they each are yet they are both so supportive and loving towards Mia. Lily and Tina are just the best fictional friends you could ask for. Then there's Michael who is still the smartest, yet very wily and flirty at the same time. His emoii stories made me laugh out loud too. Can I also say how romantic his proposal to Mia was?? AHH SO CUTE *swoons* I don't know if I should comment about Mia's Grandmere because some of the things she said made me angry, but I have to remind myself she's also fictional. The novel sets in the Middle Ages and it was so authentic. The language, the names and the descriptions, just everything made me feel as if I really was in the Middle Ages with the characters. You can see that Meg put a lot of research into it. Princess Charlotte, Duchess of Valentinois (1898–1977): the illegitimate daughter of Louis II, Prince of Monaco, later legitimized as his legal heiress; mother of Rainier III, Prince of Monaco.High spirited heroine who is just beginning to recognize the effect that men have on her. A hero who is not a jerk. A story line that involves more than just describing their physical attributes and the tingly feelings that each one gets when looking at the other. A few of the factors that combine to make it a great summer read. The only bits that I did like involved Michael Moscovitz (continuing to make ladies’ hearts go bip-di-boom) and an unexpected twist involving a new character who was instantly likeable. Lilly, who seems to think Mia has plenty of time in between flunking geometry and her princess lessons to run for student body president.

And of course Grandmere, who has a plan to keep Genovia from being thrown out of the EU that seems to include making unscheduled appearances in the hallways of Albert Einstein High in her tiara, and forcing her only granddaughter to fondle the body parts of long deceased saints . . . You really expect me not to buy this?" Dr. Moscovitz asked. "My son is the world's greatest lover! It says so right here. Of course I'm going to buy this!"" Quarantine Princess Diaries doubles as an informative read about covid and what we can do to stop the pandemic If you've seen the movie version, this book takes up about the first third or maybe half of the movie (from what I remember), but don't let that fool you into thinking nothing much happens in this book. You would think that in the enlightened era in which we live, a single girl could have a boyfriend and a career and also a healthy sex life without getting called names." (55) Mia is an awkward ninth grader, still growing into her body, devoted to her beliefs as a vegetarian, struggling to keep up with her school work, especially algebra … she lives with her mom, a successful artist who just happens to be dating Mia’s math teacher … Mia’s father comes to visit Mia and informs her that she is actually the princess of Genovia, a European principality, and that she is in line to succeed him as ruler … Eventually the press finds about Mia’s royal bearing and follows her all over New York … Mia has difficulty adjusting to her new position, and along the way she breaks up with her best friend since kindergarten, Lilly, and becomes friends with Tina, a wealthy girl who is also followed around by a bodyguard … It was also hilarious to look at some of these characters due to spoiler purposes, and sobering too (especially if you read about a certain character’s death from the excerpt posted from Royal Wedding).
